Yes! anywhere you have bones close to the skin will hurt.. ie ribs, shoulder blade, foot

Basically, the less fat you have on a body part, the more it will hurt to get a tattoo. For example, the butt is supposed to hurt the least, but the toes or ribs will be excruciating.

I have tattoos. But I don't have on on my ribs. Everyone that I've talked to says that is the most painful place to get a tattoo.

Yes ribs hurt! But the feet are the most painful!! I have 4 there!!!

Most of the answers you have gotten so far is pure crap.........
everyone's pain level is different............women take it better than men though.
I've been doing tat's for 19 years and the most sensitive place that has been commen is the sternum.
Everyone has a different threshold of pain.........where it bothers one person in a certain place doesn't mean that will hurt on another.
I have to laugh at all the other answers you have gotten........
It will all depend on you. No one else can tell you whether it will you or not. You are the only one who can say that. Hope you understand that.
So many people say, "well, it really doesn't hurt, it's just annoying"..............

anyplace you get a tattoo can hurt.pain is induvidual.my first tattoo was on my ribs extending from underneath my armpit to my hip 17 inches and 9 inches wide...lots of big black lines...goodtimes!3 sessions 8 hours and a big tip!!
i have a high threshhold for pain i started to doze off while getting lines filled in...i found the vibrations and sound soothing.

It can, and does. The ribs are among the most sensitive areas on your body, tattoo wise.

I think tattoo's hurt more when there done over a bone. So I imagine that might hurt more than most tattoos.

i just recently got a tattoo from the top of my ribs down to my lower stomach and it did hurt but definitely not the most painful....my stomach was the most painful!!! but its tolerable and you can get through it!! good luck
