Okay,So I just started this job,at Whataburger,Yeah,I make greasy hamburgers for people,but the food,is 50% discount and sometimes its free. What do i do? And I get free pop too,With the food they dont serve healthy food much except like maybe salads,and grilled chicken sandwiches,thats about it,the rest isnt good for you.My work is 2 miles away from my house,sometimes I have to walk 2 miles to get to work,be on my feet all 8 hours,and walk back home with my feet aching BAAAD!!! They hurt so much if I have to walk that far,lately i've been getting rides back and forth to work but the first couple days I had to walk and it aches in my feet and legs.My work schedule is 3pm-11pm and usually work 4-5 days a week,What can I do with exercise with this schedule and with the eating right? I cant buy any groceries till next monday till my first paycheck,which I get paid weekly,like 170-180 bucks a week so.I do live by myself though,right now im at my dad's because hes got a computer.I wanna be

able to get internet,regular 70 channel cable,and maybe a telephone,I already have a cell phone I pay 60 bucks a month for.Do you think I can afford it all? Plus,I need to save up money to go back to college,I owe them $260,If I wanna go back and enroll for the fall.Help,I need Help! I wanna also be able to afford healthy groceries,any tips on that? thanks

You know--you can eat free food and still make some alternatives. For example--don't put mayo, cheese or bacon on your free burger. Eat a single instead of a double with extra lettuce, tomato, onion.

For the free pop--usually water is free as well. Carry water with you if its not. That will help not pack on hundreds of extra calories. Since you are working there --often you can get the kitchen to make grilled chicken when they normally would fry it. And speaking of--free or not--avoid the fries. No nutrients, all fat. Not worth it.

Walking the 2 miles will help with the weight. You have plenty of time to exercise--you don't go in til 3pm. That same time you are seeing your friends or doing all the other "fun things". If you are asleep by 1pm, sleep eight hours til 9am. That gives you 6 business hours to get everything done. Use one of those hours for exercise--invite a friend so that friend time and exercise time can be the same.

Healthy food is a lot more expensive though--but try to snack on apples instead of fries.

As far as can you afford it all--you don't need internet; you don't need 70 channels. I don't know a single person who is under the age of 30 who has a landline either. You don't need that either. You have a cell phone and at $60 a month thats a lot of minutes a month--you shouldn't be going over ever.

Can you afford internet, cable, telephone and cell? Probably not. Consider taking in a roommate. The important things are to save up for college. Count how many weeks you have to pay the college, and figure out how much per paycheck you have to save to make that happen.

You apparently live close to your parents. Mooch dinner off them once or twice a week. They'll give you some veggies--thats what mothers do. Eat tuna or chicken salad for meals--thats healthy if you don't over mayo it and very cheap. As you are eatting at your burger place, don't eat out any on your days off--or any lunches. Make it yourself.

That will help you keep off the lbs and save your budget.
