de-worm and de-flea her. I would like to do it asap, but is this ok?

I have got the spot on treatment for both, so would this affect her at all?

Also any advice about an un neutered tom cat that keeps hanging around in my garden waiting for her to come out, so he can have his wicked way with her? He has donr this for months, so will the fact that she has now been neutered, stop him from trying it on with her? If not, what else can i do??

You can do it right away - as long as the stuff you've got is from a vets, something like Frontline or Revolution. Store-bought products are the only dangerous ones. Frontline in particular only works on the skin, it is not systemic so it does not hurt them.

As for the unneutered Tom - keep your girl inside until her stitches are out for starters. Spaying her might help keep him away, but it might not. If the cat is a stray, call a shelter to have him picked up and neutered.

If your female cat was spayed you can still deworm and deflea her. I'm assuming that your cat is and indoor/outdoor cat. You should keep her inside for the next 7 days to give her incision time to heal. Don't forget to check the incision for any redness, swelling, or discharge. If you notice any of that it could be a sign of an infection and you should have her rechecked by your vet. If you have an intact tom cat around your house you have a couple of options. First you can try and trap him and get him neutered. In my area there are rescue groups that will help with that. Try looking of the internet or call your vet to see if there are any in your area. There are detterent sprays made to keep unwanted animals out of your yard. You can buy them at Petsmart or Petco but I have no idea if they actually work.

Ask the vet who spayed her when it is safe to give her worm and flea medications. (With a female cat it's called "spaying" and with a male cat it's called "neutering")

Does she definitely have fleas and worms?

Definitely check with the vet. A phone call to his/her office and a chat with the receptionist may be enough- she may be able to answer the question or she may ask the vet and call you back later with the vet's answer.

I don't know about the de-worm and de-fleaing...
For the male cat: He still smells her pheramones, so you need to get rid of the smell. I'm sure it will gradually dissapate, but ask your pet store what you could use to neutralize the smell (pet safe, of course) if you want to try and help it along.

female cats get spayed not neutered, that's for boys! yes you can treat your cat with what you have.As far as the tom cat goes your cat won't be interested anymore.if you want to keep the stray away put lemon juice around your yard.

definition of a ball race - a tomcat with twenty yards start on the vet. seriously though if you want the tom to loose interest and this works with dogs as well spray their back end with any strong human deodorant and the dog/tomcat will just ignore them. have used this method on my pets for years and no unwanted pet pregnancies yet

i just had my cat neutered...the vet told me 7 days before i could wash with any kind of medicated soap or dip...but if you are just using spot treatment that doesn't get kitty wet so i think that would be okay..my cat got under the car and has grease all over him..so i have to wash him..trust me its no fun! once your girl is fixed i don't think tommy will hang around..but if he does she will take care of him herself!

When i had my cat done the vet de flead and dewormed her for me so i dont see why you cant do it yourself
As for the tom cat he'll still wait around for her and once she goes out she'll soon tell him where to go

no it will not stop him hanging around. as they don't know she as been done she might not be interested and he might go away then. best to keep her in for a while then worm her and de fla her
