I am 5'7 210 and would really like to be at 140 but I just cant seem to get motivated. What can I do to start losing weight? It might help me become more motivated if I could just see results.

I have just emailed my former leader at Weight Watchers to get her to make me re-join! I have lost and gained the weight again because I stopped going to WW. Maybe you could think about joining a group - the support is such a help. I'm starting again tomorrow night! Also follow the sensible advice on here about eating and exercising. Good luck to us both :0)

You've got to come up with the motivation on your own or any program or plan you try just won't work for you.

Why do you want to lose weight? Spend sometime thinking about that as if you want to there is some motivation there. Maybe you just need a friend or someone to support you in your efforts.

I am going to Weight Watchers and my best friend and I go together for support. If I have one of those "I'm gonna quit" days or weeks she picks me up and I do the same when she has one. We also help keep each other accountable and celebrate each others successes.

You can do it...think about WHY you want to and maybe even start a journal of why and use that to motivate yourself.

You know I would go to http://wharris1.qhealthzone.com/... and look at the XS it is what I use for my energy and I have lost 33 lbs since this April and I have so much energy I don't want the day to end and I can really afford to stay with it. Where other things are sooo expensive you give up... It even taste wonderful I personally like Cran-Grape one it taste just like grape soda with no harmful things in it. The vit B-12 in it is 4900% which if you remember in the old days was how woman lost all their weight with a B-12 shot daily.... Ok I wish you luck and hope you do great alo use a free site called www.fitday.com

Then you need to get motivated because you're not going to be able to lose that much weight without it.

Start by watching what you eat and getting to the gym. Once you see a little weight come off, hopefully that would motivate you.

That is a lot of weight you want to lose, but you are none the less probably obese. To get motivated you really have to want this. Start eating a 1800 calorie diet and exercising 3 times a week, like aerobic exercisesex. walking, swimming, and running. It is not safe to lose more than two ponds per week, so don't expect to lose it all quickly. If you need any more advice, email me at malissa_lws@yahoo.com. good luck.
you can do it.

That is how I felt last year!
What I did is I did things slowly. I started making small changes. I switched to green tea, lemon water and cranberry water instead of coffee or soda. You will see results soon with that. It helps get rid of bloat.
When I went shopping I wrote down stuff I needed for recipes out of The What Would Jesus eat cookbook. He has some really yummy recipes in there that are low fat and even my husband loves. Greek meatballs, Pesto Pizza - Dr Colbert writes it. I started not buying chips, cookies and switched to low fat [Skinny Cow] ice cream bars for a dessert.
Next was exercise. I teamed up with my brother who loves working out and my husband and I started going walking after dinner. It gave us quality time which made our relationship better.
Just don't do everything all at once. Start making small changes and don't dwell on it. You will notice [like I did] all of a sudden some stuff fits again and the hubby starts noticing.. LOL
Set small goals to to get your hair done and dress in brighter clothes. Do stuff to make YOU feel good.
Make healthier choices for you and think that it will help your families health to. Buy some health books and start reading. I was amazed how unhealthy some stuff was. It got to the point that I would NEVER buy some stuff and expose my family to it.

Feel free to email me sometime and maybe we can motivate one another :)
Good luck!!!!

to be motivated look into the mirror and say do i want to be this anymore. don't look at skinny fit women and say why can't i have their body it will only depress you. when you feel like it's not working don't give up it will it usually takes a week with good excercise to see results. just think when you're done how good you will feel and don't try pills THEY DON'T WORK IT IS EXCERCISE THAT IS GIVING YOU WEIGHT LOSS. follow a dvd they usually work fast and workout in the morning fat burns double in the morning . i hope this helped and don't give up remember food is only momentarily a comfort a fit body is forever, GOOD LUCK :)

motivation comes from inside you.
I found it helpful to sit down and write down how I feel being overweight, how I look and then how I wanted to feel and look.
I also kept a daily diary of what and when I ate and why, it's amazing the patterns that will come to your attention, those patterns can be easily changed once you are aware.

Start running

eaat less

work out more often

drink water and milk

listen to music while working out-it truly helps

if desperate, start taking vitamins, proteins, etc. and don't eat alot.

don't trust those ads for fast weight loss-they are just scams.
