Usually when you scan a document it creates a PDF document. You can export the pdf to either html or xml format. I am sure you can open html files in MS word. I am not quite sure about the xml format though. But you can open xml format documents using OpenOffice.org.

U must have a software that is an OCR. Its an optical recognition program. Most scanners bring a CD that include such a program. Look for it an install it. Afterword u can save it as an RTF

You have to use software called ORC (Optical Character Recognition), which translates printed form of text into digital form, before you can import it into a word document.

That is if you want it to be editable. The other way is to insert it as a graphic, which you can't change the text.

If your scanner includes OCR software, use it.

RTFM, read the scanner user manual.
