It's prettymuch normal. My 7month old puppy keeps attacking my dog, the second out of our three. Kota, the first dog, is our alpha, so Asher doesn't mess with him (anymore at least). But snce he's trying to find his place in the pack, he (of course) wants a place of power. Therefore, he's trying to dominate himself over the second in command (my dog Indy.) He'll grow out of it once he finds his proper place in your pack. =D

The 10 month old is challenging the 5 yr old as leader of the pack because he is becoming an adult. This will only get worse. You need to let the 10 month old know that you are the leader and won't tolerate any fighting. Correct him everytime he acts dominant, not just when he fights. You should also have him fixed. You could also get different bowls for each dog and make them eat only from his own bowl. Also, whoever eats first is dominant. Make sure the 5 year old is allowed to eat first undisturbed. This will take some time to change their habits, but do it soon before the 4 month old starts trying to be dominant. Then you will have an all out battle on your hands.

First of all..they ALL need to be neutered, this reduces agression..Socond, YOU need to be the leader of the pack, not any of the dogs... The 10 month old is probably tring to get leadership. Is the 5yr old doing anything in paticular when the 10mon. old attacks him?? Do they fight whenever they are near eachother or does it start as play? If they fight whenever they are near eachother you can have the 5 yr old attached to a tie down in your yard. Walk the 10 month old on a leash around the other dogs, when he lunges at the other dog snap his leash and say "NO!"....
As for the dog not letting the other eat, you can feed them seperate. Show the 10 month old YOU control the food.. Act like you are eating from his dish, don't let him eat untill you are "done". Also, with your hands, mix some can dog food in with the dry. This leaves your scent on his food. You should do this with all of your dogs.
But you really need to become the pack leader..Start training your dogs, starting with the 10 month old, and the 5 year old next...Teach him to sit, lay down, stay, wait...etc. You can do this at feeding time...Instead of giving him a bowl of food, make him work for it, which is what they would do in the wild.. Before long they will realize you run the pack..
I also recommend watching "The dog whisperer", which is on the National Geographic channel on Friday nights, "devine Canine", and "It's me or the dog"..
Good luck

Sounds like hormones, if your 10 monther isnt neutred, you will need to do that. You spoiling the old one can also cause jealousy issues between the two dogs. They may be fighting for their "territory" (you). So every little thing little the food, water, toys..... is all included inside that territory. You need to put some more discpline on both dogs. They need to be punished for that behavior. In a wild dog pack, you will never see the pack fighting because the leader will put them in their place. When you see them fight, correct them. I would usually grab the cheeks of my smaller does, shake them hard, look him in the eye and say "NO" loud. Then I give time outs in a dark place like the bathroom. If they are fighting, don't attempt to break it up with your hands you may get bitten, instead, do something like drop a pan on the floor or hit 2 together above their heads. Also yelling "eh eh eh eh eh eh" can often stop them. You need to show dominance because I believe the source starts at you with the fighting. Good Luck

You have 3 males, all 3 are territorial in their own right.
The 10 month old is obviously showing his aggression at the 5 year old. Who by the way, was there first and does not deserve this abuse.
I would remove the 10 month old from your home. He has problems, and I doubt he will change before he seriously disables your older dog.
You are supposed to protect your pets. Why you have a question after the 10 month old caused wounds is beyond me.
That is just totally wrong.

No, the 10 month old won't grow out of it. You, as the leader of the pack, need to step in and stop the nonsense. Seperate food bowls would work, too.

Is the 10 month old neutered? Neutering can greatly reduce aggression.
If that doesn't work, you'll just need to start separating them. It is something that every dog owner of multiple dogs needs to be prepared to deal with.
Crate and rotate.

Yes feed them separately. I have 3 Yorkies and have to feed one in the bathroom with the door shut. Keeps everyone happy. Also, keep a squirt bottle full of plain water and give him a squirt when he misbehaves.
