You might have a fast metabolism which is why you don't get fat without exercising, but I'm guessing your young and the problem with that is that as soon as you get older it will all catch up with you. Even if you are thin, you should still exercise - it's not healthy to just sit around all day. Practice good eating and exercise habits (simply meaning, eat well-balanced meals and get about 30 minutes of exercise three times a week) now so you don't have to worry about shedding excess weight later on.

Well maybe, any time a person eats more calories than they take in they can gain weight. However, some people have a high metabolism, which basically means their body burns off more calories at a faster rate than others, so they don't really need to work out as much and can either whatever they want without gaining weight.
Everyone's different, so if you're eating and not exercising and still not gaining any weight, you're probably one of those people with a high metabolism. Don't try to make yourself sick by stuffing yourself with unhealthy food, but protein shakes that promote weight gain may be a good option for you if you wish to put on a few pounds. Lifting weights (no heavy cardiovascular workouts however) can help add some muscle too.
Good luck.

Thin people who don't exercise typically have quite a bit of internal fat, which can be even more dangerous than the fat on an overweight person who gets plenty of exercise.

Well, you may not get fat but you may end up with some health issues later on. No matter if you're thin you still need to exercise so you're healthy. Also, it depends on your genes not everyone that is thin will get fat.

Many people don't realize that being thin and not exercising is also unhealthy. I know someone who is like that. He is so thin he doesn't have any muscle tone. His doctor told him to start working out but he won't do it. He has had back problems and it is probably because of his lack of muscle tone.

ya you will eventually get fat because your metabolism will gradually slow down with a lack of exercise and an increase of age...but if you just walk like 30-45 min a day your metabolism will actually increase:)

Even skinny people can already be fat on the inside:

Also, as you age your metabolism slows and if nothing else changes (caloric intake, exercise) you CAN gain weight.

Yes. In fact, research has shown that lots of people who *look* skinny are actually carrying harmful abdominal fat.
