and they are overweight or obese? A lot of the preachers you see on tv or even at churches nowadays are overweight or obese. It is biblical about taking care of your body. Most of them talk about smoking, drinking, etc. as sinning. Is there a difference in your eyes? What do you think?

I am a christian and I agree that extremely overweight preachers don't have a right to talk about such things being a sin when, indeed, they are sinning. I will have to agree (even though I don't want to) that is hypocritical.

It is the duty of the preacher to remind you God wants you body to be pure,to take care of your mind, your body should be pure. Let all things that defile you be removed from your mind.God just wants you to do right.but you cant, do you know why? The apostle Paul has similar thoughts .In the book of Romans he has a clash with his sinful nature,he says he knows he has a problem with sin, he knows he need not be a party to it but he is sinful through and through..Thank God for sending down Jesus ,just in the nick of time. Speaking of time. Its getting short!..You need the fear of the Lord. What is the fear of the Lord? Whenever my sinful nature sways me towards somethang evil,I say to my self,What would God think? What will happen if I do this? Will I be punished? That ,my friend is what we call God Fearing! By the way I eat like a bird, but I am a huge man. Some folk are just big. God has made his peeps in all sizes and colors. God loves variety. to speak about a persons size is rude. Is this the excuse you are gonna tell God at Judgment day? well the preacher was fat and that offended me. will that one wash..Oh Brutha..where art tho? LOL
I gotta eat some lunch and drink some coffee and work my garden this afternoon...BBL

Yes and no. We as humans are subject to original sin and will never be perfect. Which means, we will be fat, smokers, drinkers and yes hypocrites at times.

The only truth is the Word of God which is infallable.

Proverbs 25:19
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble [is like] a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.

Through prayer and self-study of the bible, we know the truth. If someone professes to speak the truth, but lives a lie should we listen to his interpretation of the Word? No. Does this make such a man wicked? No. He is just faulted like the rest of us and we should pray for him like we would any other.

Most preachers are trying to tell us what the Bible says and say this is the way we should be. They are not proclaiming to be perfect. It is just like a parent who did bad in school saying that you need to work harder. They are telling you the right way to be, not claiming that they did everything right. No-one is perfect, not even preachers. Although some Catholics may disagree with me on this one, neither is the Pope. It is unfair for us to expect the Clergy to be perfect. They are not Jesus, they are just trying to live their lives and closely to His as possible. A sin is a sin in my eyes yes, but I think preachers commit sins, I've never met one that will tell you otherwise. Their job, though, is to tell us what the Bible says and to help us on our way to everlasting life. That's all... not to be perfect.

You have a good point. We all have faults. But they often preachon these things becauseof the lifestyle assosiated with them. drinking can cause not only self harm but harm toothers just like smoking drinking and drugs. obesity can insome ways butmostly just causes self harm. But many preachers do preach onobesity and have health and fitness programss in thechurch.

I think their morbid obesity is the least of their hypocrisies.

Have you seen the one with the old witch who does herself up in piles of fake barbie hair and false eyelashes and moans at you about the starving kids in Africa from her tacky, gold-plated set?

But even the ones who aren't so theatrically grotesque are still the greasiest scumbags on the planet. Anybody who sends money to a televangelist is only demonstrating the old maxim about a fool and his money.

I would hope that the preacher would take the stance that WE ALL have our own sins to deal with, including him. He's not perfect, but it is still his job to make us aware of our sins and to try and be better Christians. He should be the example of one who's trying to overcome his faults and lead the rest of his congregation. Not all preachers should be preachers, though. Sad but true.

It depends on whether the condemnation is coming from the individual or from the religious text. No person has the right to condemn another. None of us are perfect.

ok, to respond to your question... at the beginning, you assert maximum individuals of Pastors/ Preachers which you spot on television are obese, this is no longer valid, this is an opinion, no longer certainty, in actuality they are not. Take Bishop TD Jakes as an occasion, he grow to be obese, yet he made an attempt to lose the burden. The Bible in no way reported it grow to be a sin to be obese, however the sin is in what you probably did to be obese. Glutony is a sin, overindulgence in foodstuff is a sin, no longer looking after your termple is a sin. Pastor's are actually not condeming while they are coaching God's observe, you are going to be able to desire to be the single to experience condemed because of the fact you're actually not doing surprising, that's what occurs as quickly as we are doing incorrect.... or as quickly as we experience we are doing incorrect. you assert maximum preachers you spot are obese, properly maximum individuals of folk interior of united statesa. are obese, by what's in our ingredients presently, yet this is an entire nother undertaking, wish I replied your question.

I think it is hypocritical, but the great thing about Christianity is that we all sin. We aren't supposed to condemn each other for it.... we can point it out kindly as something to improve, but we can't condemn them to hell lol.
