I'll be surprised if they answer. If the 'thumbs' were not anonymous I don't think they would do it at all. It looks a little pathetic taking so much time to thumb down every question in another person's profile, to go back through months of Q&A just to put a little thumb down.

I give a thumbs-up if I think it's a good answer, and a thumbs-down when I don't like the answer (or it's too long to read).

There are actual stalkers? Wow, some folks are seriously bored lol

Bring 'em on, baby, I love those thumbs down, especially when I'm ragging really hard on something. It's sort of like one character here said with glee about all the "evil ones" who couldn't handle God's truth he had just layed out on them. Thumbs down can be just as flattering as thumbs up sometimes, so I don't mind them. No thumbs, now that hurts a bit, it's like being totally ignored.

When someone pastes a long, irrelevant list of quotes, what I get back by thumbing down is the ability to read potentially meaningful answers without having to wear my scrollwheel out.

When I thumbs down, it's typically because the answer is wrong or I strongly disagree with the answer. I don't "get anything" from doing it.

They want a thumb job?

They want to knock down the answers that they don't agree with to try to prove some kind of point...I havn't figured out what the point is yet though, if there even is one.

....or they just have no life.
