They think it's okay because they can ask God for forgiveness.
HINT: It's not any god they are WRONGING. Real humans apologize to those they have WRONGED.

Who's attacking? I have seen some christians (myself included) defend ourselves in lite of a nasty anti-christian or anti-God post. When you put all Christians into the same category that is really closed minded and silly. I can't remember reading any attacks on other religions. Do you have an example you can show us? As far as hell is concerned, we believe the Bible is true and it says that if you don't believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you cannot be saved and will not have eternal life. We didn't make that up, those aren't our rules. However, I would not come out and tell you that you were going to hell. I don't know your heart - only God does. Most people know where the bible stands on that issue. Heaven & Hell are between you and God.

Religion is first of all a social institute. It is about rules and regulations for the people, not about the spirit. Your relationship with God, with the Absolute, the Universe, is a very intimate thing, not something you can do with a crowd or being led by some book which was written thousand years ago and endured too many translations. The Bible is surely a useful book but we can't be sure about the translation of it so I personally look at it as at a cultural monument, a piece of beauty, a part of ancient wisdom.
Christianity has been a very powerful union for centuries, so it's not so much hatered of the religions, more about East and West, different ways of ruling the society, governments, mentalities. It's always been a political question.

Attack other religions?
In a military sense?
Well lets see... Usually because they attack us first.
Most people run around screaming about how horrible Christianity is, but those people (you) are so ignorant they don't bother to look back...
Crusades: Christians vs. Islams
Turks (Muslims) attack the Byzantine Empire (Christians). Byzantines ask European kingdoms (Christians) to help defeat the Turks (Muslims). They eventually work it out, with the Christians regaining access to the holy land.
"Hitler's Holocaust": Christians vs. Jews
It was wrong. But on the other hand, it was a revenge attack. The Jews persecuted the early church to the extent of almost destroying it. This was one sick man's delusions that he could hit back even harder.
"The war on terror": Christians vs. Islam
Ever heard of 9/11? Yeah, thats the eXtremist Muslims for you.
Now, why don't you people stop whining and stop being hypocrites. Vietnam, one of the many wars you Americans lost, was not religious. It was waged, Democracy vs. Communism.
Is that REALLY different than christianity vs. Islam? Two opposite ends of the spectrum, the differences are too much, they both swear death upon each-other?
Hmm... SOUNDS LIKE THE COLD WAR TO ME.
What makes America (and you in particular?) think it is acceptable to attack countries of other political leanings?
P.S. We only have two cheeks, so we can't keep turning them. One day, we might just withdraw all of our global aid and the third world will begin to starve because the biggest aid companies are CHRISTIAN.

My opinion as a Christian is that whilst i don't attack other religions there are many who follow the same faith as myself who do. Many of them attack other religions for many reasons, downright ignorance, fear of new or different views or simple bigotry.
I wouldn't agree that Christians are the only or worst offending religion. I have been attacked on my religious views by Wiccans, Atheists and Muslims. I do not hold any negative views of these religions only of the events and people who have made it acceptable to attack ANY religious view simply because it is not the same as your own.
I feel the main problem is that a large number of people generalize and state that because they have had negative experiences with a number of people of the one faith or social group that the entire group is no good.

i am a christian who agrees that many christians attack other religions and judge people. A lot of christians also don't and I make a point of hanging around with christians who don't. Many non christians seem to attack christians more than christians attack others, from my observations, and it is certainly not true that it is the religion with the most hatred toward other religions!

All the different religions attack eachother. It probably seems like its the christians doing all the attacking simply because theres a lot of them around here.

There you go again? Who said we attack other religions, Where do you get this information from, You probably just made up this statement, for points, People who read your letter will believe in your theory, Some small minded Christians will attack, but the majority, dont even give it a thought.

What makes it *not* okay for a Christian OR ANYONE ELSE to attack a religion?
Religions should not be held sacred. They should be questioned as critically as every other area of thought, but they usually aren't. This is because questioning usually leads to rejection, and religious leaders don't like that.

It's not just Christians, but I agree that lot of religious fanatics try to force their ways upon others.
When people try and force me to believe something or tell me that how I live my life is wrong, it makes feel like I don't belong in their religion even more, and gives me more reason to disagree with them. I can't stand when someone tells me that I'm a "sinner" because I don't agree or because I question the Bible. It's like someone telling you that you're a terrible person because you don't use the same toothpaste as them, so rediculous!
Now before I get everyone all upset, I didn't say that all religious people are like that, just some.
...and for those of you who say it's because your "leader" told you to do so, maybe you should starting thinking for yourself for a change.

Because look at all the instances of Jesus bad-mouthing the Romans' pagan religious practices and beliefs....
Oh, wait, that's right, he DIDN'T do that! In fact, he praised some Romans for having greater faith than many Jews.
