No. I'd have to say that He's more like the "Principal" or the "School Board". He allows the teachers of this world to instruct us in the things that He would have us learn...but He is not the "teacher".

Read the story of Job it shows that even the best man on earth may suffer. http://www.backtothebible.org/ is doing a series on Job. The minister Spurgeon said that he had learned more from the file and hammer than any other tool God uses so I guess his opinion is consistent with that too. I think that God will lets us suffer sometimes to test us, sometimes to correct us and sometimes when we do our will instead of his. Paul stood firm for God and was given the 39 lashes several times, shipwrecked a couple times and spent a day and night floating on the ocean... being a Christian doesn't guarantee a smooth ride just a path to salvation and the hope to give us strength.

God is only our teacher if we allow him to be. He will NEVER force himself on anyone ever. That whats so great about him. I've found that if I allow God to be my teacher; I am able to learn more quickly and not make the same dumb mistake again and again.

No LIFE is the teacher. God allows free will and lets things happen as they will. God has no desire to interfere.

FAQ: Do "Swedenborgians" believe in the Holy Trinity?

The idea of God, with all conception of Him, having been thus rent asunder, it is my purpose to treat, in their order, of God the Creator, of the Lord the Redeemer, and of the Holy Spirit the Operator, and lastly of the Divine trinity, to the end that what has been rent asunder may be again made whole; which is done when the reason of man is convinced by the Word and by light therefrom that there is a Divine trinity, and that the trinity is in the Lord God the Savior Jesus Christ, like the soul, the body, and what goes forth from these, in man; and that thus this article in the Athanasian Creed is true:"

"In Christ God and man, or the Divine and the Human, are not two, but are in one person; and as the rational soul and the flesh are one man, so God and man are one Christ." -- True Christian Religion n.4[3]:
