Singing in tune/key/pitch!

On-key, suggests that there is a well defined keynote, or reference pitch (which need not necessarily be an absolute pitch, but, rather, one that is relative for at least the duration of a song).
A song is usually in a certain key, which is usually the note that the song ends on, and is the base frequency around which it resolves to at the end.
The base-frequency is usually called the "key center". Being on-key presumes that there is a key-center frequency around which some portion of notes have well defined intervals to.

Technically, it means hitting the note you're aiming at. If you go higher than the note, you're going sharp. If you sing lower than the note, you're going flat.

In other words, you're off key if you don't hit the exact note.

Think of a piece of music being played on the piano. Singing in key would be to match the note played by each key (on the piano's keyboard) as you sing.

Singing in key is not always required, especially in jazz versions of songs. What is required is harmony. You may be off-key technically but if it sounds good, you're good to go. This may be achieved technically, by studying music and knowing which notes harmonise with others, or instinctively. You may just have the ear and know instinctively what note to hit so that it harmonises with the actual note being played.

its singing on the correct note. in tune with what the music is playing....have you ever heard someone try to sing to a song and you could just tell that they were way out of tune? almost like they were tone deaf. well singing in key is right the opposite. singing in key sounds very much like the song does. i hope this helps a little. :) have a great day!!!!:)

Most music is written in keys and is made up of scales. To sing in key means to be in tune with the song; to be singing in the same key that the song is in. If you're flat or sharp of the melody then you will sound out of tune = sound bad = singing out of key.

Hope this helps.

Once you have an idea of what range your voice fits in you can begin to work on learning how to sing high notes in that range. Earlier training was spoken of. In order to train your voice you will want to perform various vocalizes. A vocalize is a vocal exercise designed to strengthen your voice. Often these are exercises where you ascend or descend a scale on various syllables. For example, perhaps you want to simply descend the scale on a light hum while you ascend the scale on an open "ah" sound. These are performed going up and down the keyboard respectively within the confines of your vocal range. If you do this consistently you will find that your vocal range will expand both higher and lower.

However not all of how to sing high notes is about the actual notes that your voice can hit. In fact, many people can sing extremely high notes, but they are not always pleasing to listen to. Truthfully much of how to sing high notes is about placement and intonation. When you talk of placement, which basically means where the focused sound of your voice is coming from. For example, for those focused on how to sing high notes you want to think about the placement of the voice being at the top of the nasal cavity. This is where your head voice can be the most focused and strong. Typically, if you have the right placement as you sing those high notes you can feel your nose gently vibrating.

The intonation refers to how you are using your mouth to create the vowel sound that you are singing on. For example, traditionally, you want your mouth to open more horizontally rather than vertically for a less shrill and fuller sound.

like the keys on a piano, or even playing a guitar. If someone plays an A you can sing an A. Like the "do ray me fa so la ti do", the scales that go up and down.

when you sing notes right, and on pitch. when a song is in a certain key, it means that certain notes need to be sung flat (lower) or sharp (higher) then they normally are. If you dont sing those notes sharp or flat, then the song sounds horrible and your not singing in key. or, more correctly, in the right key.

making a music out of key and rancid the beat are the two complicated for us band contributors. each so often the band can recuperate if the singer got here right into a verse too quickly. yet regularly it throws us into chaos. and regularly people who sing off key also have a unfavourable experience of timing. regrettably those everybody isn't musicly proficient in spite of instructions. I certainly have perservered in ineffective many situations interior the previous, interior the desire a singer will advance to no avail.

It is the same thing as singing in tune and hitting the note accurately when you sing. No mistakes.
