Will my neutered 6 month old cat spray if I get a girl kitten in September? He has never sprayed before, but if I get another cat, will he start?
Thanks everyone!

Cat's spray to be territorial, a behaviour usually largely due to sex hormones. Since your cat was neutered in good time I say it's unlikely he will start spraying, but it's not impossible. Many hormones are also produced in the brain and so are still present after neutering, so it is possible for neutered cats to still spray. Introducing a new cat is best done at a young age though, so I think you've got as good a chance as you can have for avoiding spray.

My cat was neutered very young. Two years later I got a dog going from 2 to 3 dogs. My cat started spraying and my vet told met that it was because he was feeling pressure on his territory. He had never sprayed before and he was neutered young. Probably depends on how large where you live is and whether or not they would be indoor or outdoor cats mine is an indoor cat so his territory is my house.

you never really can tell. neutering doesnt stop males from spraying, and yes even female cats can spray. i know this doesnt answer your question but i dont want you thinking that just cause your cat is neutered it cant spray.

Probably not, but its no guarantee.. I have 4 cats 3 females and one male.. all are fixed except one female and my male doesnt even show interest in her, and he has never sprayed. I got him neutered fairly young though which makes a difference. Its funny actually my female is a lesbian she hates the male and she humps my other female cats its weird..lol

No he shouldn't start spraying if you get another cat.

It's highly unlikely that he would spray. You did the right thing neutering him when he was young. He will be more accepting and less aggressive because of it.

Nope you have had him neutered before he started this habit therefore that tells me he would not spray because he does not have the habit now or ever .I hope I helped . good luck with the fur babies.

probably not - if they didn't spray before they were neutered, they usually don't afterward

no if he's neutered he loses all of those "manly" instincts like spraying.
