I would tell the lady thank you for offering, but you've found other arrangements for your dog. She might not understand that you're dog isn't house trained or forgotten how much fun it is to clean that stuff out of the carpet. The kennel will probably be best - they have attendants who clean up the messes often and keep everything sanitary. You don't want your mother's relationship with this woman to suffer if she does get upset about your dog possibly "ruining" her carpet. Some kennels do have play times for the dog, so it will also be an added bonus for her to socialize - it's very important for your dog to socialize with others (as long as she's got all of her shots!).

A kennel is like me putting you in a bathroom during your vacation, with someone coming to let you out a few times a day to stretch.
Since the dog is a puppy, and the person is willing to care for it, why not. And maybe by the time you get back the other dogs and the lady will have your puppy housebroken.
You will not be gone that long and the dog is a pack animal, meaning it has an alpha person (YOU) and that does not change. So Coco will be very happy when you are back home.

I use to work at a kennel and they let a dog go outside one at a time unless the dog is housed with another dog (say if the owners own 2 dogs).
Some kennels have indoor and outdoor runs...so the dog could go inside and out in its own fenced in area but there would be a fence protecting it from the outside world as well as from the other dogs.
I would kennel it. Make sure its up to date on all shots and gets a shot for kennel cough before you kennel it though!
Being that you don't know these people (which can be really nice people) what if the dog, not being fully housebroke, gets up on the lady's nice new couch and pees on it, and if she gets attached to the dog says to you " this dog ruined my new sofa, rug and love seat because its not house trained, I'm keeping the dog until you pay me for the furniture or you can just sign it over to me".
Now the lady might not be like that but being you don't know her...you never know.

Kennels are noisy busy areas. The puppies get burdened & certainly not loosen up.This might rationale the load loss. The diarrhoea is nearly obviously induced by means of a malicious program. If the kennels used extra hygiene measures the malicious program might be contained.I might attempt to discover an additional kennel in long term or use a puppy sitter. They take your puppy into their possess residence to reside as aspect of the loved ones at the same time you're on vacation.Price is round £20 an afternoon.

Well first off make sure you check out that kennel throughly because there have been many a mishap at a kennel . I left my dog (chihuahua) at a kennel several yrs ago and she came up missing or so they say well anyway I think someone stole my dog from the kennel . I would leave her somewhere where she would get plenty of attention and personal one on one care . You rarely find that at any kennel . so my option if I were you would be to leave her with someone you and she both know well . good luck and have a great trip.

Coco will be more comfortable & less stressed while you are away if she can stay in her own home. I am a professional pet sitter & always watch pets in their own environment. In a kennel, they CAN be exposed to diseases; poor sanitary conditions or dogs with agressive behaviors staying in the next cage that can be very intimidating to some dogs. I go in the home 5 or 6 times a day; let the animals play, feed them at their usual time, let them go out for "potty breaks" & leave a light on & soft music at night following the bedtime break (around 10-11 pm). You can find a petsitter in your area by searching the phonebook, calling your Vet for any petsitters that they may know of or some may be listed on the internet. My fee is usually close to what a kennel would charge. Good Luck! (If you were in my area I'd be happy to sit for Coco!)

Leave your dog in a place that makes YOU feel most comfortable. A kennel is equipped to take good care of your dog. However, before your board your dog (if that's what you decide to do) go to the kennel and look it over. See if you're comfortable with the way they operate. If so, you can give your dog a little vacation, too, and she'll be fine.

I have puppy/dog watched many times and usually for clients of my mom's. All the people's dogs' I watched were previously kenneled when they were gone but all the owners had bad experiences at different kennels. Some came home sick, some decided they were no longer house trained because they learned to go in the kennels, some picked up bad habits and others did not adjust well to new surroundings. Not only did I dog sit I watched their digs in their house. The dog did better staying at home. But then again you have to trust the person who watches your dog. I would never put my dog in a kennel I have family watch my dog. Would your mom watch your dog?

If I HAD to go away I would prefer my two dogs to go to a kennel that I could check; find other people that have used the kennel and also know that the Kennel had to be registered and checked by the authorities. I would not want my dog to go to someone, however well meaning, who has never had a dog! It might put your Mum in and invidious position but it is YOUR dog. Right?
Good Luck

The kennel will be a good socialization platform for her. It's always a good idea not to involve friends as that is a good way to lose them. Also, god forbid anything should happen, the kennel is better prepared to handle an emergency and they have training and insurance to deal with whatever may arise.
