Feel free to witness the deep and abiding LOVE expressed by Christians in the answers, too. Such love! What a religion!

In this case, hun, there is no reference to the question answered by most in either the question itself or the additional details. In this case it was a question about the definition of marriage being ONE man and ONE woman (stressed like that) and all the answers were about gay marriage....le sigh.

It looks to me that one would tell by reading simply the main question that you are referring to polygamy and not gay marriaged based on the emphasis one the word 'ONE' alone. Clearly you stressed the word 'ONE' for a reason and I find it very humorous that so many people did not understand this. I am shocked and actually shocked by the fact that I am shocked because I shouldn't be...well...shocked.

It depends upon how understandable the question was. If the question is very clear, I try to answer the question. I might also mention some related things that were not asked, but that might make my answer more understandable.

If the question is not clear to me, I can only answer what I assumed the question meant.

As for the gay marriage question, there is a passage in the New Testament where one of Christ's Apostles, or maybe Paul, was speaking about how faithful different Christian congregations were behaving. He criticized one for allowing members who were homosexual. Someone who is able to quote scripture and verse, might be able to confirm or correct my memory on that.

I don't see how telling congregations not to include gays is the same thing as telling Christians to oppose gay marriage outside the church. Christ also indicated that His Church was to be no part of the world, so if non-religious societies want to marry gays it wouldn't be The Church's business unless the human government tried to force priests or ministers to conduct gay marriages.

A related thing:
Conservative Christians and Jews often point to the account of the destruction of Sodom as an indication that God will destroy our country if gays are given equal rights. As I remember the account, however, rape was also tolerated in Sodom and gay rights activists are not suggesting that rape be tolerated in our country. I'm not sure the fear of equal civil rights for gays is well founded for those who believe their religion is no part of the world.

Most of my questions aren't serious, and i try to have a punchline in the details.

Usually what I get is my group of friends who read the details and then tell me I was funny, or if I wasnt they tell me

and there is this roving band of christians telling me i need to read the bible

heres a hint: man asking why you aren't protesting red lobster because of leviticus 11:9-12 - probably has a decent handle on the bible

I try to answer the actual question when the question is clear and precise, I'll infer when it isn't.

I never use caps when answering as I think they are rude. If I feel the need to highlight a word or phrase I'll generally use apostrophes or put the word between ~~ marks.

Additional Details are often overlooked.

I even overlooked them when I answered this. Did I address the question correctly?

Hahaha
And none of them answered. You're right in that many men of the bible had multiple wives. Marriage as EVOLVED yup I said it!! To one man and woman and will hopefully evolve more to include whoever wants to marry who ever else.

I tend to answer the question that's posed in the headline -- if you can't get to your point within that first sentence, then you deserve whatever you get in terms of mocking or nonsensical answers....
