aficionado hate Gordon? What makes him so different than all the others?

2007-06-04 05:53:47 · 15 answers · asked by Tonya in TX - Duck 6 in Sports Auto Racing NASCAR

So basically, what I'm hearing is that it's a jealousy thing because when he first entered he got immediate success and didn't have to "pay his dues" like everyone else. And now that he's older, and still has "it", everyone's jealous because he's had all this success and can run dirty and not face any consequences. But didn't Dale Sr. do the same things Gordon now does? And I'm sure MANY others run dirty too. Ok, so he can dish it but can't take it. But is that REALLY all that it boils down to?

Ok it sounds like you pretty much have it nailed, but I'll throw in too. Gordon is hated, simply because it's much easier to hate a winner than it is to hate a loser. Gordon came in right off the bat and shut down Earnhardt Sr.'s reign over NASCAR. Yes, Earnhardt had success after Gordon entered, but once Gordon was established in NASCAR, Earnhardt's championships, and many of his wins ended.

People will claim he didn't pay his dues, but they are lying. Gordon was racing at the age of 7 and has been since. So he landed a good ride when he was a rookie? Well who's to say he didn't MAKE it a good ride? Who's to say his accomplishments weren't part of the equation of Hendrick's becoming a major force in NASCAR?

About the gay remarks, you'll do well to ignore them. They stem from ignorant ideas thought up by people who ran out of bad things to say about a man who dominated from the beginning of his career. It could be compared to a couple of 5 year olds fighting over who's dad is the bestestest. It's childish.

We can't forget the "whining" and "crybaby" nonsense either. Ok, this comes from when Gordon gave his acceptance speech after winning his 1st or 2nd championship. He got a little emotional when he gave it. So I guess you instantly become a crybaby once you reach the pinnacle of your dream and get a little emotional? Well, you give me ~$7 million and buddy, I'll turn on the water works for you. So then they turn around and says he whines...well news flash...all drivers whine. It's just because you can actually understand what he is saying that he gets blamed for whining. He's not from the south, which is one of the main reasons, along with all this, that he is hated. "He's a derned ol' outsider!" (cool it everyone, I'm from Alabama, born and raised. I've got a Southern accent so I can make fun of it.)

So there you go, you pretty much know the roots of the "Hating of Gordon". I'll leave you with this, "A person can only claim someone lacks talent, when that someone has been accused of having it." In which case Gordon has more than most of it.

The reason so many people hate him is because he won so much in his beginning days. Before the days of the one engine rule, he would win so many poles.

The reason I dislike him is because of what happened after he stopped winning so much. He became a crybaby. He complained so much about any little thing that went wrong (rarely ever blaming his own actions). He has tempered him down a bit, and I think that he is a lot more fan friendly in that respect.

The truely unfortunate thing is that the lack of love for Gordon has been passed on to his protege Jimmie Johnson.

We went to the Fontana race a pair years in the past. It isnt precisely the main prepared race we've ever been to, in terms of parking and getting human beings out and in in a well timed way. That wasnt the worst section, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that... the warmth replaced into insane. I have been to probable 25-30 races at distinctive tracks around the country, yet Fontana replaced into my spouse's 1st race. the warmth very almost grew to become her off to NASCAR continuously. It replaced into so warm that we had to leave the stands each half-hour or so and pass below the stands just to capture our breath. i might say get to the music a minimum of two-3 hours till now the fairway flag drops. that provides you time to get your self a great parking spot, and walk around the object trailers, and any of the different exciting stuff they have obtainable. desire you have extra exciting than we did!

Jeff Gordon is a very good driver, however he has always had the best equipment in his career. If he drove for the Wood Bros. Bill Davis. He would not be as good. He is kind of a wussy, only will fight with his helmet on.

He's a pretty boy, and NOT an ugly, beer-swilling, wife-beating, trailer-dwelling redneck. Plus his car was painted with "rainbow" colors and all good redneck morons know what THAT means . And he cried once during an interview.

Did u see him today in them big sunglasses?
He's gotten queer written all over him.
He's a cheater, to win a race he has to cheat to get a win.
Also, he's crybaby. If things don't go his way, or somebody bumps or hits him, or even wrecks him, or a team mates fights him for a win, or another driver beats him off pit road he crys about it.
