In the book I'm reading, written by a holistic vet, actually recommends not feeding your pet for one or two days per month. This fasting allows their body to get rid of toxins or something. By the time they eat again they are running around the house overloaded with energy. I personally haven't tried it, and I don't think I will try it. :)

I assume you're going on vacation for a day or something similar. As long as your cat is well fed, and you're only skipping a meal or two, no, this will not harm her as long as you feed her right before you leave and immediately as soon as you get back. However, you MUST provide a very large bowl of fresh water that she can drink from. A few bowls if you feel one is not enough for the time period you will be gone. Also, a clean litter box or two. And if you can provide this much accommodation, why not leave some dry food out for her as well? Even if normally you feed her wet and dry, and normally feed in measured meals, this is a much better option in case your estimated one day turns out to be more than one day.
They do sell pet food bowls that can be set on timers and open at certain times. If you choose this option, your cat can still get meals at appropriate times while you're away.
I would rather you left your cat more food than she could eat, so that she will not be left to fend for herself if you cannot come home as soon as planned, rather than no food. That said, it is your option, but for the welfare of your cat I STRONGLY suggest leaving her a large bowl of dry food to eat. Screwing with her eating schedule for a day or two is much healthier for her than getting stuck in a house without food in case you run into some unexpected delays.
Hope this helps!

If this becomes a regular thing then yes. If it's just a one-off, then no. If the cat is overweight however, not eating for two days can be very dangerous, they can get hepatic lipidosis.

no it wont hurt your cat, there preditors by nature, if they get hungry enough they;ll catch and kill there own if outside,, if inside same thing applys they;ll just be forced to do there jobs as cats and catch a mouse or two,, but really no it wont hurt them at all just dont be gone for longer than that with out any care given to your pet , cat or whatever,, they have to eat and drink

Cats, like us are mammals. No, it will not kill your cat to go without food for a day, but think about how you would feel if you went without eating for 24 hours. You will witness a very irritated and hungry feline.

no it won't harm them if they don't eat for a day--they are just like us! We will live without food for a day but we would probably be very hungry. Even though it wouldn't hurt your cat, I wouldn't recomemd going a day without giving it food.

Not as long as their healthy, one day won't hurt them, but how would you like to, not eat for a day or two. Wouldn't like it much would be my guess...neither would they!
