Sky diving. Sailing solo across the Atlantic. Both seem brave to me.

All motor vehicle racing has risk - Indy Racing on average has more deaths than Nascar has had, I believe Formula 1 has also.
I do not believe those to be the only sports - take a baseball pitched at 90+ mph on the temple and you will end up seriously injured or dead. Every sport has risk to life.

Life is put at risk in everysport.
Did you know that more children die in Little League Baseball than in any other sport?
Deaths have occurred in Hockey, Football, Track and Field and Basketball. But not all related with the sport itself.
Interesting analogy, though...But today Nascar is safer than most other sports.

Where did you read that?
The sports you listed and what qualify's them as sports are a matter of opinion.
people and society have a funny way of deciding what is to be called a Sport and not.
Bull Fighting? a sport? Nonsense (in my opinion) it is just plain cruelty to me.
Mountain Climbing? A sport? I have nothing against it, but calling it a sport? in what context?
Nascar? Yes I would call it a Sport as it is a Team Sport , by that I mean it takes well trained team of individules to keep the car in perfect running condition, all working in concert. but that again is a matter of opinion on what you believe what a sport is.

No. Real men ran in the chariot racing. Men like Jeff Gordon run in Nascar. No comparison.

No...I'm thinking the horse races that take place in Sienna, Italy are much more likely to be the equivalent of chariot races

I say they need to bring back pok-a-tok -- the old Mayan equivalent of soccer where the losing team gets put to death....
