Well, America has lost the edge in this world as a direct result of our Education System being "Dumbed Down"!!! We have become complacent & lazy to the point that we no longer develop as we should in the English Language (as you can see at this Site, too "Lazy" to even use the "Spell Checker") choosing rather every possible shortcut in our communication with others. We are also taught to be Self Centered & Self Absorbed to the point that we neglect our Neighbors Needs. We no longer sit around the kitchen table with our family for dinner discussing the days events etc.. These things are affecting our Prayer Life (or lack there of) and may be part of the problem you are experiencing. Scripture says to "Pray Without Ceasing" which is not to say walk on your knees, but rather "Communicate" with God as your "Best Friend" who you know will always be there for you. Tell Him of All your Problems, Trials, Tribulations, Neighbors Needs, as they happen!!! He has promised to carry your "Load" just as Christ took All our Sins' Punishment for Us!!! Remember, First things First! Christ taught us how to pray by First Praising God, then Ask for Forgiveness of your Sins (no wailing or gnashing of teeth or feeling sorry for your sins, just state them), then make your Petitions Knowing that Gods' Answer might Not be what You Want, but will ALWAYS BE CORRECT ("not My will, but Thy will be Done" (Christ)!!! Then Close by Thanking and Praising God. That's the "Formula" that Christ left for us to follow. God Bless! John

I think everyone who prays probably goes through this at some point. One thing that you should remember is that when you pray, your words don't have to be carefully selected and you don't have to sound impressive. Talk to God like you're talking to your best friend about the things that are bothering you, what you need help with, and thanking him for what he's done for you.

And even though I set time aside every day, I pray throughout the day too ... if I think of something I want to talk to God about, I do it while I'm driving, or taking a shower, or even while I'm typing on the computer. Keep the lines of communication open always and prayer will come more easily!

There seems to be so many people telling us "how" to pray that prayer becomes another chore or another thing we feel guilty about because we feel we're not doing it right. Sometimes we spend so much energy trying to say the right thing, that we forget the purpose of prayer. "Your" direct communication with God, not Billy Grahams, not your pastors, not your parents. God meets you were you are, loves you as you are, knows where you are in your christian walk. So I'd say the key to keeping a healthy prayerful life is to keep on praying.

Praying should be like talking to your best friend. I admit sometimes it is hard to pray and other times it is quite easy. Pray about those that you are concerned about. Talk to God about your day. Sometimes prayer is just a simple thank you Lord. The sincerity of a prayer is more important then the actual length. Praying for someone when there names comes to your mind. A regular pray life is good, but sometimes it is hard to spend even five minutes out of habit. Try praying as you read(meditating) on God's word. Pray just simply as God leads you. Short prayers I find much easier to do through out the day.

well repetition in prayer kinda, in a way, contradicts your belief in GOD. You are praying the same prayer over and over because maybe you feel as though you weren't heard the first time, or you didnt express your feelings enough to GOD in a way that HE would take you seriously, or maybe you are just IMPATIENT. Reguardless of what the reason maybe for your boredom in praying, know that GOD does care and HE knows your hearts true desires. But I hope that you arent just praying for "things". Talk to GOD. Throughout the day, thank him, laugh with him, appreciate all the small things. Be delighted in the LORD for what you've already been blessed with. Of course continue to pray for forgiveness, and pray to HIM knowing that your prayers have been heard and have already been taken care of. Be PATIENT little grasshopper. One day you will see. Be blessed hunnie bun

That's a contradiction in terms.

The purpose of repeatingly admitting your defects to a god who supposedly made you that way is more to instill a level of guilt in you so you'll be more likely to fill the pews and pay the cash than it is to make any invisible sky being happy.

One man with a hammer can do more good than a billion people praying.

And this non-Christian "advices" is better than what any Christian will give you.

Well, how do you talk with your friends? If every single day you said that same things to them, you talked about the same things, that wouldn't be a conversation, right? So why don't try saying something different to God next time? Talk to him like he's your best friend.

Honestly, just keep it real and be consistent. Everyone has times when they feel like you do. God knows how you feel anyway, so talk to Him about the way you're feeling. Prayer is just conversing with God, and He wants us to be honest with Him, not "tell Him what we think He wants to hear." He loves you and knows you better than you know yourself.

Well, I've been using the Rosary to time "Sprinting" up a mountain. So, every third, seventh, & tenth "Hail Mary" I "Sprint" regardless of the slope level. Soon, I'm going to have to challenge myself more by adding another sprint in there ... but ah, oxygen deprivation + spectacular mountain scenery = one spiritually happy giraffe (giggle).

They can are available any style, even a donkey, or a character who you could least count on to be an angel. Angels are throughout us, looking to win the struggle of existence for us. Shalom,
