GW Bush claims that if illegal aliens pay their fine, that this bill is not amnesty. If I steal a car, and pay the fine and do the time, do I get to keep the car? Can I rob a bank, spend the time and keep the money?
So why is it that Bush thinks that illegal aliens can break our laws, pay a fine, and keep the spoils by being allowed to stay here?

some polisci major...how is it an invalid comparrison? We are talking about breaking a law, paying a fine, and keeping the spoils of that crime. You do not think that it compares to stealing? They stole their place in line ahead of those who have done all they can to get here legally. They steal out tax dollars in the form of not paying taxes, or if they do, they collect the earned income credit and child tax credit, and DO NOT PAY TAXES, and even get a refund on what they did not pay. THAT IS THEFT SINCE THEY SHOULD NOT BE HERE!

Clinton B...no there is not such a law in CA. Being a citizen cannot be granted by the state like that. Sorry.
As for anyone else who sees this as an incorrect or illogical analogy...that is the problem with you...you do not understand logic.

You are totally correct if they are here illegally then they broke the law and must be deported. Otherwise why do we even bother having laws? Personally I think that they should stay home and work to fix there own country's rather than screwing up our country. Our country is the way it is because someone made it that way, it did not happen by chance, it was usually paid for in someones blood, that would be American blood of course.

I think if you are unable to do so, you should contact the ACLU and demand EQUAL rights and EQUAL treatment as to what the Illegal Aliens are receiving.
All American citizen's should be issued one free GET OUT OF JAIL FREE card.............pay $200 and pass go.

it's more like tax evasion.
if you fail to pay your taxes, you get caught, you can pay a fine, and not go to jail.
you benefit by not going to jail. the government benefits by not spending money on your incarceration and by getting the money you were supposed to pay them.

If this amnesty joke passes, I think we all should be able to keep that car,money etc. If the law doesn't apply to certain people,maybe it should quit applying to us as well.
