Because a shock or more-than-normal amount of force to the nerve endings in my skin and everywhere else in my body causes a quite unpleasant reaction in my brain and the area in question, I have reason to be wary of anything that might cause such a shock.
In short, I fear pain.
It is quite natural to have fear. To those who say they have no fear because they have Jesus in their lives, why is jumping off a cliff not an option? You have no reason to be afraid of falling to a messy death and causing emotional pain to those in your life... because Jesus will catch you, right?
Fear is not evil or a sign of lack of faith. It's a natural human emotion.

No my friend , fear still holds it's sway yet, my consciousness maintains its defilements and I suffer as result, such is Karma and I accept my responsibility for its consequence.
I have work to do yet it seems...
Such is Life....we do what we can and help others when the opportunity arises, does this make me unhappy...? On the contrary, it gives me hope and spurns me to continue on the Path, will you walk with me for a while my friend..?
Peace from a Buddhist....

No, I'm not "free from fear". That's not because I'm always worrying about things (I'm not a worrywart). It's because I'm not stupid. There are some things we SHOULD be afraid of in certain situations. Sharks come to mind.

No. Places close early here, so if I am low on beer, I get frightened I cannot buy any before I run out.
