How do you know you are not good enough for the job? Studying for 5 years is a long time, if you didn't understand what you were doing you would not have passed assignments, exams etc so I am sure you are good enough. Have you just started a job that didnt work out or something to make you feel this way? If so, could there have been another reason that it didn't work out? Perhaps you and your boss just did not see eye to eye or something, even if you get on with everyone it does happen once in a while that you meet someone and you just cannot stand one another. I had this in a job early in my career and I doubted myself and left the job after 8 months, 7 years down the line I have worked for 4 people since them, only leaving due to my husbands job constantly re-locating us from the UK to the US. Each of those 4 people have given me excellant references and raved about my work, 1 infact allowed me to continue working for them remotely from home after I left. Please look for another reason, I am sure it is not you

I always wanted to be an electronics engineer, going back a few years now, and succeeded in my aim. However I left electronics for a few years and it had just got away from me and I did not have a clue. My qualifications helped me to get a job with a mechanical engineering bias and I took more exams and made a good go of it. Rising to sales director level for many years. The company, due to poor financial management went into receivership and after a few years fiddling around at lesser paid positions I eventually put to use my hobby skills in DIY and became a fitter of gutters and a painter and decorator. This I did for 12 years and made a wonderful living. The moral of this is to not despair but think what you can do and have ago. Best of luck and do not give in.

Do you know what; I don't think it's about "not being good enough". I don't know anybody who went into the career they studied towards. I trained as a teacher; my best mate as a bio-medical chemist; another as a solicitor and a fourth as a forensic scientist. 2 of us work in the council and the other 2 work in a contact centre. Studying cool subjects is wicked - but the jobs just aren't there for the amount of us training to do them.

The trouble with studying is that employers try to get someone with some work experience, if your not up to their standard try starting at a lower level and working up. A school style environment for years doesn't always mean too much in the working world, rethink your approach to the situation and alter your initial goals.
Hope this helps

Scream and cry thats what i do!! Lol, no seriously- its frustrating i know- i studied 8 years for my degree and i have the problem that i am over qualified for jobs- i have stopped adding my degree to my CV. If you are not good enough then you will have to do a bit extra to get there or look for a job that you are suited to.

Perservere, remember they told Mike Jordan, he wasnt a good basketball player. If it's something you really really want to do, just keep "at it". Learning, practicing
Good Luck

My sympathies are with you. May be you could have tried harder or may be you can catch up with your deficiencies even now? Else, look for some other job?
