NO. 2000 calories a day is what you need to be consuming max, unless you are female and pregnant. When you starve yourself, your body breaks down your muscles for food. Do not damage your body. It will cause all kinds of physical health problems. Go to a Dr. and ask what weight you should be at. Believe what they tell you! And remember, muscles weigh more than fat ( because they are denser), so get healthy, not scrawny.

not even close. you should never consume less calories a day then the BMR requires. figure out what your BMR is and that is the minimum amount of cals that you should consume daily. if you are currently consuming that many cals daily and not losing fat then the problem lies in either the types of foods that you are consuming or your daily level of activity (not getting enough).

a quick and dirty method of determine your BMR is by taking your body weight and dividing it by 2.2 then multiply that by 24 .

example: 140 lbs

(140 / 2.2) * 24 = 1527 cals daily

* consuming less calories than the BMR requires causes the metabolic rate to slow. fat burning will decrease and the body will start to utilize more muscle proteins for energy. the body will hold on to fat stores and catabolize lean muscle mass. over time the body fat percentage will increase even though the "scale weight" may be decreasing

No. If you eat that little, you will lose weight. However, your body will go into starvation mode and massively slow down your metabolism. As soon as you start eating again, you will quickly regain all the weight you lost and then some.
