There are no guidelines. You could take years. My sister and her husband of nine years only courted for two months before proposing. Just remember: just because you get engaged doesn't mean you have to marry immediately. Though a good rule of thumb is no longer than a year and a half between proposal and marriage, lest there's something wrong.
And there's nothing wrong with the woman proposing marriage. :)

wait till you feel that the time is right then ask him. yes it id okay for the girl to ask the guy but it is more of a tradition for the guy to ask the girl.but it is alright to ask him if you think that you love him. but you should wait a few till you to are use yto each other to see what happens in the long run to see if you guys can stand living together first and if you cant then how are you gonna get married?

Two years minimum, and yes. Just be sure the guy you ask is responsible. If you think he's going to react badly to you asking, you could always just hint around. Good luck!

there is no time line for that. its when you feel your ready for that kind of commitment. it could be 6 months, or 4 years. it all depends. a good way to look at it is, live with the person for a year or 2. if you can stand them still, it should work out in marrige

it normally becames difficult when it a woman who wants the boyfriend to marry her. that aside i think it should be around six months. And becames it the man who normally bears the cost it should be a man who should ask the woman to marry him.

Depends how you feel for one another and NO the man should propose it is his grounds to do this and you proposing may well harm his feelings in a way, as it is his job. I know how im going to propose and id hate it for my lass to spoil it
