That's a switch, most digicams make skin tones look red.
If inside under tungsten or fluorescent lighting, use a flash or set the white balance for the correct lighting. Check the WB, it may be set to shade which will give things a yellow tint.

You can always adjust the color in post processing, but that is time consuming.

My first question would be are you using flash? If not it could be the available light in the room, you can adjust your white balance for the lighting that you are in. That function should be somewhere in the main menu on the camera. It will be designated by an icon that says "AWB" or "White balance."
If you can't find it, check your user's guide. In most cases the Auto white balance is sufficient. Another possibility is that someone has set the white balance and it is adjusting for lighting that is not there. Good Luck and I hope this helps
