you have lost fat and gained muscle - dont look at the scale - look at how your clothes fit
you have to eat more to lose more and try eating every day the same amount of calories so your metabolism knows what its working with.

Repeat after me: "The scale is not my friend. It lies and doesn't show me the big picture".

You should never judge how well your diet is working simply by how much you weigh. For example, if you lost 2 pounds last week, but gained some muscle and are retaining a little water then that 2 pounds you lost won't show up. But you *DID* lose it.

Judge your weight loss by how your clothes fit. Do your pants feel looser? Is there more room in your shirt than there used to be? If so, then you've lost some weight even if the scale says otherwise.

Now I feel your diet is a little too low and you might have messed up your metabolism. I suggest the following to hopefully fix it.

Do some high intensity exercise for 6 times a week for an hour each time. You need to jump start your metabolism and the best way to do this is to get your heart rate up. Try not to slow down unless you really can't catch your breath.

Then up the caloric intake to at least 1400 calories a day. I never suggest going under 1500, but as you're not that large I feel 1400 is a safe level.

Then break up your meals into 5 or 6 meals and eat throughout the day. I don't care if you're not hungry, if it's 2pm and you're supposed to eat something then you eat it. Otherwise you're just working against yourself.

If you start to gain weight then I would suggest you speak to a nutritionist or your doctor.

The guy above me is an idiot-I mean the first poster. It takes a month of active working out (weight lifting) to add muscle, and at most it will be 1-2 pounds. If one just sticks to cardio, they wont add muscle but lose muscle-along with some fat- because of tissue catabolism. I believe you are having to few calories and exercising on top of that, is not enough calories...seriously, a 1200 cal diet and not exercising is better than the 1200 with exercise, because with the exercise you may have a 800-1000 calories per day. No way your body is going to drop fat like that.
Avoif the wheat bread. Whole grain bread is 100 times better. Avoid dairy at all costs and you will really see the pounds drop-NO MILK, NO CHEESE, NO YOGURT. Think about taking cla, green tea extract pills, and gymenna sylvestre to promote better fat burning, and equal fat dispertion (people have lost belly fat/love handles taking 4grams of it a day), green tea-has beneficial antioxidants and polyphenals, ect; gymenna sylvestre promotes healthy blood sugar levels, and that tells your system to start burning fat.

Foods that have a high glycemic index will result in a big insulin spike that tells your body to store fat. That is why people who drink diet soda with artifical sweetners can end up gaining pounds because of the stupid aspartame or asulfame K. Splenda is the only artifical sweetner that doesnt affect blood sugar.

It may take about 5 pounds of real fat (not scale weight or water weight) before you may notice the slightest change. Avoid sugar too, but again please do not drink milk. It's so full of sh!t antibiotics and hormones it will really mess your system up. a week with no dairy you will feel a fog lift off of you and fell great!
Try haveing a 1500 calorie diet and exercise.

If your pants are a little loose, you're probably losing inches. Find a good guideline for taking your measurments, or have someone help you with it, and use that to keep track.

Secondly, you're probably eating too little. 1200 is the MINIMUM calorie intake your body needs, and if you're exercising that often, your body will need MORE food to keep up with you. Check out sparkpeople.com - its free and they'll tell you, based on your height, weight and lifestyle, how many calories you need to lose weight.

(and for the record, at your height, your weight is really right where it should be!)

You are eating to little and need to bump up your calorie intake and be sure you eat 3 healthy meals a day with a good snack between each meal and at bedtime to keep you metabolism working. Also check your scales to be sure they are accurate. Some day when you have time stop at the docs office and ask them to have the nurse weigh you (no appointment needed for this) and then go home immediately and get on your scales to be sure they are accurate. If your scale at home is off then either balance it out or get a new one.

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 12 pounds and 19 inches in 9 days. I continued and lost 29 pounds in a month. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc…. These toxins enter our bodies and get stored in our fat cells. To shrink the fat, we need to get rid of the toxins through cleansing. The program also has a natural diet pill to help your metabolism and curb cravings. It works and it works fast. My skin has improved from the cleansing. It is pricey but worth it! I think cleansing is really important to health and weight loss. While you're losing fat, you might be gaining muscle, which weighs a decent bit.
