There are several common causes for lip swelling: allergies, trauma, and in association with irritable bowel syndrome. If its allergies, there is also usually some itching or signs of allergies elsewhere. If the swelling is caused by trauma or IBS, then you would know it.

Most likely it is an allergic reaction. If it is, you can reduce the swelling by using ice and taking an antihistamine. Benedryl is one of the best for this purpose, but it puts most people to sleep, so something like Claritin might be a good choice if you can't afford to be sleepy all day.

Well whatever you do don't touch your lip and then touch the rest of your body or it would spread. It might be a cold sore or fever blister, but you had it since Friday and didn't see a doctor! That's crazy! vaseline isn't a very good idea to put on your lip. Go see a doctor and get some medicated ointment.

vaseline can clog your pores, you need to dry up the bump. Try alcohol like 3-5 times a day...DONT squeeze it because you will have a very ugly lip!

It's probably a canker sore. Get some Cank-Aid.
Or hold a qtip with some alcohol on it for a couple seconds. It might sting for a second, but it will dry up and go away.
If you don't do anything, it will probably go away in about the same time. Rinse your mouth with Listerine.

It sounds like a cold sore, or Herpes Simplex. Try ice to quiet it down. You can also use Spirits of Camphor. A wet tea bag is also very soothing. Do NOT use vaseline, as it will only get worse.
