Jesus never wrote anything down. The only "words of Jesus" were written down by the writers of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Some references to what Jesus said are found in other books of the New Testament. So, if you are disqualifying John as a source, then which books of the New Testament are fair game for you?
2 Timothy 3:15
Romans 10:9

So you don't want a quote from John, even though he directly quotes Jesus, because you choose not to believe it? I love it when people qualify their questions and then give limits to how it can be answered. What good would it do me to show you anything in the Bible if you have already closed your mind to it? Don't waste our time by pretending to want an honest answer, some of us take theis forum seriously as a way to spread truth, we don't use it to set up some lame point. Read the first answer... now what else you got to say?

John 10:15
....I lay down my life for the sheep.
John 9:41
...If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remains.
John 9:39
For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
Jesus said all of these things and in the last verse he was talking about the temple Pharisees and Sadducees who were corrupt.
Jesus came to give us back life eternal that we lost because of sin in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve ate and brought sin into the world.
John the Baptist was the one who said, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world."
The Holy Spirit takes our sins away by purification and refining. John 16:8,9
And he (Holy Spirit) is come, he will reprove (convict) the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world(the devil) is judged.
Every word quoted is red letter and to be the spoken word of Jesus.

1 cor. 15:3-6 " I handed on to you, among the first things, that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was burried, yes, that he has been raised up the third day according to the scriptures; and that he appeared to cephas, then to the twelve. After that he appeared to upward of five hundred brothers at one time. 1 Peter 3:18; Rom. 6:4,9 ;1 tim. 2:5,6; eph. 1:7; John 3:16; 1 John 4:9,10 and Acts 4:12 ; JOhn 1:29; acts 10:43; and rev. 7:9,10,14-17

I really do wonder if Christians have REALLY thought about the concept of Jesus dying for the sins of the world. I mean, really thought about EXACTLY what it means. Because in truth, it has no real, practical meaning. Am I in any way excused of any of my transgressions because Jesus died?
Of course I'm not! Or is it that I was born with the Original Sin (which is grossly unfair, seeing as I never asked to be born in the first place) And do Christians look down at a newborn baby, and say "He/she is really cute, except for that big black original sin! But he will be ok once we have got him baptised. After all, Jesus DID die for him"! No they don't, and what about all those billions of people who were never baptised! They ae going to hell, and have absolutely NO IDEA WHY! It's the biggest con ever pulled!

well since jesus never actually penned any of the words in the bible youll be hard pressed to find that. Most of the books of the new testament where written years after they happened. and we all know what happens to storys that get passed around. people embelish facts get changed. im not disputing the bible but you have to admit there is room for error. people will say that since's it the inspired word of god that it cannot be wrong. but im afraid if its one thing we have learned from the bible is that when you add man to the equation things can and will get messed up.

I'm no Bible scholar, however, it does state in 1 Peter 2:24 that Jesus took upon our sins.

Premise you've probably forgotten(intentionally): God divinely authored the Bible. It is HIS WORD. Jesus is God.
Read Rom 3:10-26... it's called sotieriology... enjoy!
"10as it is written:
"None is righteous, no, not one;
11no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one."
13"Their throat is an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive."
"The venom of asps is under their lips."
14"Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness."
15"Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16in their paths are ruin and misery,
17and the way of peace they have not known."
18"There is no fear of God before their eyes."
19Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20For by works of the law no human being[c] will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.
The Righteousness of God Through Faith
21But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it-- 22the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. "
