Hello there how are you doing? Well the way i think is you dont have to go to church to believe in god, so long as you have your faith in god thats all that matters, and yes i do agree with you on that! There is nothing wrong with NOT going to church, just keep your faith and believe in your faith!!

Three things.
First, you say that "I believe in a relationship w/ God and that Jesus covers every sin. Even the repeated ones." Like it or not, that is religion. Perhaps it is merely organized religion you are against?
Second, religion is not corrupt. People are corrupt. Do you really think that if religion did not exist that people would not be sick and perverted? Religion has little to do with it. Some people are corrupt, and they will corrupt whatever they are involved with. Religion is the victim, not the perpetrator.
Third, I basically agree with your statement about God and Jesus. I don't mean to sound like I am harping on you, because I think I understand where you are coming from. There are Christians and religious people out there that are selfish and hypocritical, and they give religion a bad name. That said, there are many good religious people as well, and there are some bad people who are not religious. Make sure you "hate" the right thing. :-)

There are many religions, and your are right that many people take the idea of religion and make a total mockery of it, even Satan has religious followers that attend satanic churches. So, religion in itself, does not do a lot for you. It is what you do with it. Having a personal relationship with God is the most important thing we can do to attain the final goal, that is Heaven. However, the Bible does have the passage about not forsaking the assembling of ourselves. So, religion does have its place. It enables someone to meet and bond with other people of similar beliefs while at the same time spending time worshiping God. The trick is to find a church that accepts you as you are and that you can feel good about being there. It is not what is written over the door or what denomination that matters, it is the people, because the people are the real church. You said something that struck me as odd; you said you hate religion, then you said you believe in a relationship with God. God does not hate nor does he condone hating. There are many religions that I have no confidence in and they are not for me, but don't hate them.

I hate religion. Being a follower of Christ is not a religion. I love Jesus. I talk to Him like I talk to my friends. He answers me back too. People have the choice to believe whatever they want to. Me? I don't push my "religion" or whatever you want to call it, on other people simply b/c I know it's a waste of time. People have formed their opinions on Jesus and His "followers" the only way people can change is if the Holy Spirit enters their heats. I feel so sorry for people who do not feel the joy of Jesus Christ. They have NO hope. They are hollow and they don't know how to fill the hole. Many times people have "tried" christianity but again people screwed it up and are confused so they form this opinion that christianity is no different from every one else's "religion" it's not even a religious religion in the first place. God hates religion. Thats why He sent His Son, to change that. The only religion that God likes is the careing of orphans and widows. Thats the only religion I am for. Other than that. It's false. phony and fake.

I do believe in God. I do think sin leads us from God. I also think that plenty of men have used religion to control the people at a time when church and state were the same. I also believe that organized religion lacks humility.

I don't feel the same way, but I do not believe you have to be a part of organized religion to go to heaven. I believe if your a good person you're in.
However, 'repeated' sins - my mom does that, she will seriously break six commandments a day and say because she is christian and she is forgiven. She isnt sorry and doesnt try to stop doing them, so I donot believe it is forgiven if you dont even put effort into stopping.

What do i think of religion? I think there is far more to it that the Christian way. Just because the religion of the god you follow is corrupt, doenst mean all religions are like that. Thats really ignornant.

Amen sister- religion is man's attempt to reach God.
relationship- is God's way of reaching man.
We have a loving relationship with the living God through Jesus Christ. When we accept Christ as the payment for our sins, we will want to obey and follow out of our love and gratitude for His forgiveness- however rules to follow do not save. Hallelujah!

Money and power corrupt, religion and politics are at the front of that line.
For every zealot trying to "save the world" one sinner at a time whether they like it or not, there's a tolerant, genuine person who views their spirituality as a personal walk. The same is true for the nonbelievers.

Lot of good things in most religions. It's people that are the problem. Most of the "rules" involve helping people, or at least not hurting them.
