Sorry to hear about your boyfriend's accident.

Some non-expensive dates are:

The Park - Take a picnic lunch, a blanket, and just enjoy the day and being together.

The Movies - Not too expensive as long as you don't indulge in popcorn, candy and soda.

A movie night at home - Rent or borrow a DVD. Pop some popcorn or order a pizza, make a little picnic lunch and then relax in front of the TV watching your favorite movie.

Pack a lunch and take a hike at your nearest local park or reservation.
Pitch a tent in the backyard overnight.
Have a picnic in the living room.
Invite friends over for your first semi annual game night.

VOLUNTEER! Clean up a park, walk dogs at the SPCA, look for local Habit for Humanity projects to work on.

Working out together is good, too - running, playing tennis or basketball at the local park, riding bikes.

Our city has weekly concerts in the park which are free.

Yes, because he abused the responsibility he accepted when he received the card to purchase gas only by making purchases far beyond the scope of what you authorized. The first step is to report the incident to police. Subsequently, you sue for the return of the value of the unauthorized expenditures. It may take days, weeks or months for the case to be heard in civil court, depending on the backlog of cases, so don't expect it to be a rapid process. If you win the case, you receive a judgement in your favor, but the court doesn't force him to pay. If he won't, you may have to request that the money be taken from his paycheck, or put a lien on his house or car.

In my state here in Indiana we have two independent papers that are free. In them are all sorts of events for all sorts of things to do, some free. Ours is even on the net so look around to see if you might have something like that. We get movies from our library to save money.
