Can realplayer convert a song in WMA format into MP3?

no real player cannot convert to mp3 from wma.
real player uses its own format and considers wmv a competing format.

you may need a 3rd party audio editing software such as sony sound forge, or nero burning rom's wave editor.

AFAIK, realplayer don't convert anything. you may want to use Audacity plus LAME_ENC.DLL to convert any file to mp3 format.
