Hi!

I am vet tech at a feline only animal hospital and also the owner of a cat with a very itchy butt. .

I doubt your cat needs to be re wormed. It could be his diet, or another possibility is that some cats just don't clean their backsides the way they should. He probably is having a rectal or anal gland issue. Try the following for about a week and see if this helps:

Twice a day (morning and evening) wet a wash cloth with warm water and just a very tiny bit of hand soap and gently wipe his butt a couple of times. This will clean it and stinulate circulation to his anal gland.

Feed her bland food. Try Science Diet Maintenance (original) and or Tender Turkey and Giblets flavored fancy feast Fancy feast. NO TREATS. This will put out the fire if her diet was irritating her rectum

When you do the wash cloth, don't be surprised if a foul smelling substance comes out. Thats called expressing the anal glands and its good for her to clean them out.

Hope this helps. If it goes on more than 10 days, call your vet.

Just get her checked by the vet again, there are other problems that cause butt rubbing - anal glands for one. If she has diarrhoea it might make her butt sore. Three monthly worming with a proper product should be enough for adult cats.

What kind of worms did kitty have?

What did the vet use to worm the kitty?

Does your cat go outside? If so she could have gotten them again.

Also, if it was tapeworms they come from the cat eating the flea and that means she needs a flea treatment as well as a worming.

Could also be anal gland issues or allergies.

Good Luck!
