It means an application was accessing your registry or a system file that windows was trying to write to. This is one of those errors you can ignore IF it appears in your "event viewer".

If you are experiencing random crashes or extreme computer slowness, this is a separate issue. You may have a dying hard drive. Back up your data if you have not already and look into RMA'ing your under-warranty hard drive or purchasing a new one.

i used to get that on my hard drive before it failed, i believe it has something to either do with lost sectors on the disc or loose cable, either way my external is now dead, so i may look into a new hard drive soon if thats the case
