when you have 45000 road trauma deaths and 30000 killed by firearms each year. Apart from 9/11 very few Americans die as the result of terrorism. Well outside Iraq I guess.

Hilary Clntoon. Unless I misunderstand your comment I do not think you should stay in Iraq. Quite the opposite. There is no need to call anybody an idiot just because you don't agree with them.

I'm going to spend a lot of time adding to this. No I don't think it is a bad thing to be proactive in opposing terrorism. I'm just wondering if you have your priorities right. A life lost is just as bad however it is lost.

Part of my reason for asking this question was in response to your security peoples great work in tracking down this latest band of low lives. re. JFK airport. This is the way I see to defeating terrorism, not attacking countries that had nothing to do with 9/11. Perhaps I should have worded my question "over reacting " instead of "so obsessed".
Your reference to lacking sympathy to relatives of victims makes about as much sense as accusing somebody who is trying to find the answer to why not enough is being spent on cancer research of doing the same thing.
Anyway some people seem to get the idea of what I am asking and I thank them for that. All hope is not yet lost.

You are right, however we don't want it to escalate to broader proportions. Maybe if we quit pissing people off!

We sure spent a lot of money, and wasted kids lives or being scared forever for 3,000 people in a land that had nothing to do with their deaths.

Please try and explain the 14 deaths this weekend! Why are we there. Too put another govt in. We did that. To train Iraqi troops. That has been contracted out. So why are we there? We haven't shoved enough money at KBR yet? What?

Road deaths: accidental, indescriminant
Fire-arms: intentional or accidental, descriminant
Terrorism: intentional indescriminant.

maybe a better question would be why are terrorist so obsessed with killing americans and jews?

but i mean, they started it... you can´t just kill 3000+ americans in New York, and destroy 2 of our most recognized buildings and expect us not to "rise" to the situation.

that situation being there is a new threat... and this one is serious... there are people out there that want to kill us, just because we were born in america. they have already seen success...... but they are not satisfied..... they wont stop.... until they are all dead, or we are....

now, wouldn´t you become more or less obsessed if someone wanted to kill you, your friends, your family and everyone else that you know?

I wonder the same thing.
Terrorism: The use of terrorizing methods, or the state of fear and submission produced.
Child abuse, domestic violence, school shootings, hate crimes are acts of terrorism by this definition. Can it really be easier to obsess over what another country does to us and be apathetic to whats happening in our own country?

The vast majority of Americans as more concerned about being involved in a traffic accident than a terrorist attack.

The politicans on the other hand don't care about the traffic accidents. They are concerned about the terrorism.

Because the government and the media keep hyping it.

But seriously, terrorism is a good thing to protect against, isn't it? I mean, yeah, we haven't had many deaths, but we want to prevent that, too. Why do you think that's a bad thing?

US wants to cover it own gulty by talking about democracy and blablabla...
In our own US we have the most terrorist in the world .
The US is supporting lots of terrorist groups in the world, Tourture in our prisons and... .
If the US wants to bring democracy in the world first itself then other places would do itself not by the naughty US.
