Ok, I don't understand the whole "No-Fault Insurance." It sounds fu**** up if it's what I think it means. In my old state, if you hit someone, YOU pay for their damages, but from what I understand, here, you gotta pay for your own damages even if it's not your fault! Is this true, or am I wrong? If that is true, that is the stupidest law I have ever heard! Ok, I am done ranting. :)

In a no-fault state, each driver is responsible for their own damages. If you have coverage for the damage, your insurance company will pay regardless of fault. If you don't have insurance for the damage you cannot collect anything, even from the other driver. No determination of fault is done.

Most no-fault states do have a limit for severe injuries. If you are severely injured you may be able to sue the other party for pain and suffering, lost wages, etc. if your damages exceed the state ceiling for no-fault claims.

No-fault states are effectively "No play, no pay" in that if you are driving uninsured you cannot recover any damages from the other party regardless of the circumstances of the accident since fault isn't a factor in any claims.
