LOL I keep hearing about this but I do not watch tv so I do not know anything about it. I honestly do not even know who these people are. Sorry. I am content.

A better question is, who is holding them up as representatives or spokesmen for Christianity as a whole? My guess is the media, because celebrities equal ratings; thus we have Tom Cruise held up as authority on Scientology. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but it's his marketability that matters more to the entertainment media with his actual knowledge being a distant second in priority.
I'd no more wish for Cameron to "represent my faith" than Mel Gibson -- who, while he made a remarkable movie about Christ, has some serious personal issues that damage his credibility.

I'd pick Pope Benedict XVI any day over a couple of American Fundie TV preachers. He could hold his own and then some with anyone.....
The Pope is an accomplished theologian, writer, has been a university professor and theology instructor for many years with several PhD's when he was Cardinal Ratzinger.
Americans don't seem to understand that American Protestant fundamentalism is just a small slice of the overall worldwide Christian Church.

Kirk Cameron gave a speech about why Crocoducks don't exist. Last time I checked, they don't.
Is it the fact that HE once was an Atheist, and has found God, that you object to most, really?

I don't think I ever voted in that election.
But they certainly have the right to voice their personal opinions, as long as they don't try to say that their opinion reflects that of every Christian in existence.

Better question, why did they pick these for the debate? There are plenty of other apologetes who would be far more qualified and tested for such a debate.

I certainly admire their attempts. At least people are getting to know them better and hearing things maybe they've never heard or considered before. But mostly, I admire their heart for people to be saved.

Nope. That's the best they've got.
I mean, one way or another, no matter if you bring 1 representative or 1 billion, the same thing will be advocated, "Circular Logic".
