My understanding is that this World was made to be like a vacation spot for the spirits. To come and see the beauty of the oceans amd mountians. Watch the animals play. But we have the ability to bond, or get inside anything and experience what it is like. And the first spirits stayed around too long and got trapped by the forces that create this material dimension.
That is when the human from was introduced to this World.
The soul is heavier type of spirit body. It looks just like us when we first leave this world. And is still subject to lower spiritual aspects like magnetism. Which we have to learn to break free from, on the planetary, and karmic levels.

Peace be with you always there mate and I will drink too your soul.

Soul and spirits is when you have run out of glasses to drink your spirits in. You take off your shoe and drink from the soul. Thus drinking spirit from the soul. If you don't like your shoes getting wet, then just ask for one at your favourite cocktail bar. Go for the GP's as they hold more than those little high-heals that the barmaid wears.

People are spirit beings who have a soul, and who live in a body. With our spirit we contact our Creator, the God of the Bible. One can feel the Spirit of God moving in their spirits, calling them, speaking to them, loving them. Our souls consist of our emotions, love, hate, greed, joy, peace and so on. We all know about our bodies. If we have asked the Lord Jesus into our hearts, and become a Christian, at the moment of our death, our spirit departs from our body, and goes to be with the Lord in Heaven. At the resurrection, our bodies will be raised from the dead, and be made new. Hope this helps! God loves you !!

No offense...
Here's my theory...
I know of a man that can leave his body every time he goes to sleep. His name is Robert A. Monroe. It has been documented by univerisities that he actually weighs less when he leaves his body. They tried to see if he can do espionage with his 'dream body'. It doesn't work. He can atcually go to the place but things written appear different to you when you're in this state. Even people who are awake and in their physical state act different in your perspective he says. Ho once pinched someone during an experiment and they had a great big bruise in real life.
Anyway, he says that besides our dream body and our physical body, we have five other bodies. Could one of them be our soul? He says he has seen all of his while outside of his body. Some theorize that we have a body for each plane of existance... or heaven levels. 7th heaven?

Souls and spirits are superstitions and myths. It was an attempt by ancient people to invent something lasting in our ephemeral lives. But they only really exist in our imaginations, not reality.

Imaginary. Well that is unless someone finds a way to measure it.
