Hello,
(ANS) Working as a telephone interviewer for a Market Research company in West Yorkshire. The job involved trying to get strangers (i.e. cold calling) to take part in stupid interviews some of which lasted more than 20mins, the working conditions were dreadful with No! windows, broken air conditioning so we all froze, battered old PC's running windows 98 (yes! 98), broken chairs & terrible strip lighting, only x1 20min lunch brake in a 6hr shift.
**I'm sure the health & safety people would have closed the unit down if they found out how people were treated.
**The hourly rate was just £6.15 for the most experienced people, trainee's or new starters got the minimum wage, or agency staff got even less.

most demanding was singlehandedly digging a 40 foot long ditch by shovel 3 feet deep in two days, no hoardings provided and totally illegal under health and safety laws. i loved it, good grafting. most demeaning was having to clean the pisser when i did 90 percent of the actual hard dirty work everybody else fuc'ked off when there was stuff to be lifted by hand. since that time i dont clean toilets anymore. dont care what the boss says, i say different. btw to clairfy i mean i did most of the work but was expected to clean the lav as well on my day, everybody else wanted to do it on a friday "easy friday"<<<

When I started as a Housekeeper in a hotel and on the first day, me and another girl had to clean 21 rooms!!! We got finished at 4.30pm.! Guests had their bags at the door of the last room when we were still scrubbing the toilet floor! Never again! It was the equivalent of clean half a dozen peoples houses we were shattered 'cos we started with the reception/public areas at 7am that day!!! I lasted 4 months. Only 3 weeks at a prawn factory though! Oh, they tried to sack me at the hotel, till I told them to stick the job up their bums!!!

Cleaning up homes no one wants to. Sent to clean a home in North Atlanta in a bad area. Blood stains in carpet. Dried blood splatter on walls and ceiling. House smelled real bad. Temp job. Thought it was too risky to go back for the second day.

Mine was a secretary for a small firm of financial advisers. I was in a room all on my own (only a photocopier for come). The job was permanent - 8.30 am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. With the exception of 1 hour a week I had NOTHING to do.

I worked for a company selling airline flights and associated products to the general public by phone. What a nightmare had to go in low to pull them in and then raise them to your desired price. as I would not like to be ripped off this day afraid I didn't last long.
