Hardening is like a callus or like the tough bone fibers that bridge a fracture. Spiritual hardening beings with self-sufficiency, security in one's self, and self-satisfaction. The real danger is that at some point, repeated resistance to God will yield an actual inability to respond, which the Bible describes as a hardened heart. Insensitivity indicates advanced hardening.
Here are some warning signs:

Rebelling and being discontented - suffering or discomfort can create an attitude that blames God.

Rejecting a deserved rebuke - rejecting God's gift makes one's neck stiff and one's heart hard.

Refusing to listen - leads to a loss of spiritual hearing.

Failing to respond - listening to God with no intention of obeying produces an inability to obey.

Today if you hear His voice - harden not your heart!

Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Ezekiel 18:31
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.Ezekiel 36:26
Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them,[a] and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh,Ezekiel 11:19
Jesus gave me a new heart and spirit! Amen

My heart works fine, thank you.

Gee, and I always thought self-sufficiency, security in one's self, and self-satisfaction was a good thing. Oh, but I'm supposed to feel miserable, guilty, and needy so that I'm more apt to buy into your superstition.

When religious people talk of "heart", they mean feelings. And "hardening your heart" means not having those feelings. In that sense, yes, my heart is hardened. The religious ploy of emotional manipulation just doesn't work on me anymore, and for good reason.

Note how even in this post of yours, you talk about "insensitivity", which is another way of saying feelings. You're worried that your emotional hooks don't work, and they don't. Futhermore, more and more people are seeing through your group's attempts to force feelings of pity, guilt, fear, and group bonding in order fill the pews more.

If there were a god, I'm sure that he would not stumble in his attempts to connect with us just because he couldn't evoke a certain emotional response. Is your god so weak?

many cases interior the e book of Exodus Pharaoh had hardened his very own heart. whilst God began to declare that God hardened Pharaoh's heart, He replaced into basically allowing his heart to be hardened. After awhile God shall we them flow there very own way. study the 1st financial ruin of Romans, for an incredible clarification. God does hand us over to our wicked hearts and minds whilst He sees that we are going to on no account come to have self belief.

The determination you show in your attempts to prolong the life of your dying belief system is commendable but also, laughable. A tide of logic sweeps in and the sandcastles of faith erode inexorably. You are not equipped with the methods to halt the tide. The religious knowledge which you hold so dear cannot be used, for against logic, it is powerless. Madness. In madness religion was born and in madness it will end.

The good news is that there is no god - least of all, the criminally insane individual as described by the Jewish bible. The bad news is that billions of people follow lock-step behind this fictitious mentally defective personality, the result of which is that there is no crime against humanity not covered and justified by this Yahweh of the bible. Not a single one.

God Bless You Girl!!

This is a great question, and I am glad you wrote it out- I hope and pray many read this and acknowledge they do have a hard hear towards God and that only HE can soften it!

For He says: Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

I've farmed my heart hardening out. The Christians are doing a fine job, always starting out from unproven premises and a nice condescending follow-up. I can recommend them to anyone.

You have "hardened your heart" against THOUSANDS of gods.

Did you know that there is a difference between your beliefs and the objective truth?

Did you know that not knowing this makes christians seem incredibly unintelligent and narrow minded?

Did you know that your jesus is just a rehash of earlier, cooler gods?

No!
why? because i already received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour as what the Bible says in John 1:12.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" - John 1:12 KJV
