I think:
Ppl with unhappy family lives do try n fill the gap by spending more time and effort at work.. as a result, becoming more ambitious.
However, it is not always true that ppl with happy family lives are not ambitious... maybe sometimes pre-occupied with family ties n stuff..

No. I think some people do, but when I have had a happy time in my life a lot of that has had to do with my work / career. Ambition if it becomes the end usually involves sacrificing family life and friends so while ambition is a great motivator it should be a means to an end where hopefully the successful person can then devote more time to friends and family. I think making a career your goal is likely to end in tears. Making anything your goal can of course lead to disappointment. May I recommend you watch (if you have not already) the film The Good Shepherd which is a poignant reminder of what happens when a job consumes a man.

That is sort of a chicken and egg question. People who are over achievers the ones who are very ambitious etc. usually have unhappy family lives because they are totally committed to getting ahead in their career.
Some of these people started out neglecting their family and others were unhappy at home and started spending more and more time with their career.
I think mainly that people who are over achievers started out in school as straight A students and went into the work force wanting to be the top dog and sacrificed the family's happiness to achieve their goal.

I think thats not always the case. I think some people are ambitous some are not, some are lazy and can settle some cant, some are complacent etc. Some people love there family life but want to give them more so they work and you are right some work because they dont want to go home. I think everyone has goals for their career noone wants to stay at the bottom, assuming that people who have goals or are ambitous dont have happy family lives is sort of far fetched.

no. i dont believe that at all. not from my experience one bit. i dont mean to sound rude, but poor people will always experience more unhappiness and family problems because the stress of their poverty. but also the environment of being around other poor people. the worst basically brings out the worst in people. that is not to say all poor people have unhappy families but i think a lot of them do.
i also think some ambitious people have successful families. they work hard to provide a nice life for their family. maybe they are ambitious out of love. of course, helps to be smart. of course some ambitious people have bad families. i have seen that too.

I think just the opposite. People who are loved and supported by their family tend to want to achieve more in life. If you grow up unloved and unwanted, it undercuts your self worth and that shows in everything you do. That's why its important to never have a child for your selfishness. The messages you give your child will follow them all of their lives, good or bad.
