people give up all the time. like weather. it's like -10 degrees and you're only wearing a short pants and t shirt. Or it's 45 degrees and you're wearing a ski suit. people use common sense to adapt to the weather and we sort of give up when it comes to it, because you can't control it, like u ask it for a snow blizzard in the middle of summer.

its not a stupid question, i think i get the gist of it, are your parents maybe just trying to encourage you, all be it in not such a good example? parents often wish way more for their children than they themselves are willing to settle for, and sometimes it may appear they have given up on something but maybe they have exhausted all the possibilities or perhaps they just dont see the possibilities that you do. As a parent i am going to tell you one of the biggest kept secrets............... we are only human, and we dont always get it 100% correct. BUT, everything we do is with our childs best interest at heart, and just because you dont always agree or like it, doesnt mean its not true.

You are the kind of kid who makes a parent tired. Your folks are telling you to not give up on yourself and you think you need to prove them wrong by showing that they give up. They haven't given up on you, that should tell you something.

Sweetie, I don't understand your question. If they do give up, you would have proof of what they gave up on. If you don't have proof, it sounds like they know what they're talking about.
