If you have a basketball net out in your back yard, why do you need to go to the Chicago Bull's game?

Church and praying at home are 2 different experiences. Church gets you in touch with a community that praying at home does not. Of course, some people just sit in church then go home as quickly as possible and don't get anything out of it. So I wonder why those people go. That is like going to the Bull's game, but standing in the concession line the whole time.

You can worship God from anywhere. God is present everywhere. The benefit or purpose of going to Church, Temple, Masjid, Gurudwaras is you get the suitable atmosphere to do your prayers. In the house you may have disturbances and you may not be able to concentrate. Further in the temples where you have deities you get the satisfaction of having prayed. You can develop some principle and have peace of mind also. We have been believing in the ambiance of temples to pray God and we also make a sort of Vratha or Vow to come to temples..

Going to Church, Temple, Masjid, Gurudwara etc. has social relevance. It keeps the community closely knitted. People come to know about each others problem. Probably this was the reason that our Prophet very vehemently advocated offering Fard Namaaz in Mosque. On one occasion he said I feel like going to the jungle and bringing wood to burn the houses of the people who offer Fard Namaaz in their houses but the thought of women, childern, old and ill folks stops me from doing so.

God no longer lives in Temples, Churches, Mosques and Gurudwara etc. Some even say that He is omnipresent sans these places!

That was in a lighter vein.

We go to congregate there since there could be some devotees of high spiritual levels whose company can be beneficial to us.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful.

First of All let me make a clarification that in Islam we do not
believe that physically God is everywhere. There is only one God and he is high above the seven heavens established on his throne in a way that suits his majesty. We believe that God is present every where by his knowledge as He the almighty is the all seer and the all hearer.

Islam is a religion for all of mankind and Islam believes that
all are equal in the sight of Allah [glory be to him ].many religions say the same thing and practice the opposite like
racism and the caste system.Islam is about equality , brother
hood , unity and we make sure to practice it ,Islam makes it
obligatory for its men to pray in the masjid and to stand shoulder to shoulder with each other, whether the person is rich or poor , black or white, king or pauper there is no difference ,this brings about unity amoung Muslims and breaks down social and cultural barriers.A masjid is also a
place of serenity and free of distractions ,we follow the Imam who is he leader in prayer and pray with discipline
and unity our concentration fixed on the worship and submission to our creator.therefore it is preferred for male
Muslims to pray in congregation in the masjid and the reward
for it is greater than praying alone or i some other place.

These institutions are working like elementary schools.
At present you may be not in need of these Church, Temples, etc. But how this knowledge came to you? I can assume that your mother used to take you to the temples to teach you about the God.

Can an educated person deny the elementary schools; only because he knows everything?

Since our body create negative vibrations, To avoide that we need to go to temple. Since from the murthy the positive vibrations are formed and if we go to temple and sit for sometime, The positive vibrations are gained by our body and thus we feel happy in our heart and peace in our mind.

That;s the reason we go to temple, eventhough god is present everywhere.

Some people need a place to go and worship, a place where they feel safe and can connect and be at one with God. It is a personal choice but also how a person is brought up. Lots off people can only connect or feel they can only connect with God when in a place of worship.
