So many questions here. How old is the dog?? The only temperament the dog will have is when it comes to her babies. She will protect them.

You have to know when her prime is. So many
things can go wrong and maybe not, but you do need to prepared for what could happen. My advice to you would be to hold off until you get books and read about breeding your dog. The pro and con's of things. You can't go into this blindly and putting your dog in danger.

Since you are talking your dog to a breeder Ask her/him about breeding and what can go on..things to look for. If they can't answer your question then don't use their dog.

Your dog needs to be 2 years old for her to be bred. Please learn what all this takes. It can be the best thing that every happens to you or the worst. Learning will be easy on your dog. If she feels your nervous then she will become nervous

Good luck to you and your dog. I hope everything goes well.

Things OFTEN go wrong, especially with small breeds. If she needs a csection, it can costs $1k+. Aside form if you should based on your dog, you should call your vet to discuss the costs of having a litter- there's prenatal care for Mom, post natal care for pups, and then all the little 'things' that pup up and require a run to the vet. A litter, even without a csection, could cost you $500+ EASY. Can you afford that?

have you checked into the laws of breeding and getting rid of dogs there are state laws in many places.
Complications depend on how old your dog is and if their are genetic problems which you need to go back several generations.
The size of the pups go to the father you can't look at teh father but you need to ge beack about 3-4 genreations .
Hope you are ready to pau for possible c-sectons
Temperment depends on dog. Can be very protectiveof pups so watchthe dog and child.

So, maybe you should reconsider breeding and just get her spayed? Small dogs almost always have whelping difficulties.

You should only be breeding if your Lhasa fits the AKC breed standard, if she has gained an AKC Championship title and if you have tested her for genetic diseases (all that goes for the stud, too). I highly doubt you have down either of that.

Just spay her. There is no way to tell whether her personality/temperament will change.

Is she is show champion? No? Then you are contributing to the problem. A dog who is a show champion is deemed to be one of the best of that breed, and the whole point behind breeding a dog is to IMPROVE the breed. Did you have all of the tests done? CERF, OFA, vet checked, etc? If not DO NOT BREED HER! Have her spayed. You and her will be much happier.
