as the Son of God and saviour of the human race to get into Heaven. The Jahovah witnesses believe no woman gets into Heaven, and excuse me if I'm wrong but don't the Jewish and Muslim faiths also claim to be the only way into Heaven. Isn't it enough to just lead a good life without even believing in God.

I do believe in God. I just don't think that it is an essential belief one must obtain in order to get into Heaven

Some of you I'm sure, don't even bother to read a question fully before prattling on about fire and damnation. What I'm sugesting is not an evil thing taken from the pits of Hell to offend Christ. Infact it's something I'm sure any clear thinking person would agree on. That if Heaven exists surely it's a place for any people who try to be tollerant and faithful and loving and kind to everyone even to those who aren't their type of people and not just for people of a particular faith.

So according to most of you a man who never steals, kills, rapes, cheats, curses, hates, swears, blasphemes, drinks or does anything else which might be considered sinful or imorral won't get into Heaven if he was born a Muslim and dosn't convert to Christianity, even though Jesus's message was one of forgivness, understanding and love. Well I'm sorry but I can't agree on that one, and frankly I'm quite disturbed that hardly any of you have seemed to question and evaluate the things you believe in.

Jesus died a Jew so he must be in Hell I guess.

Okay;- I am an atheist, and I totally agree with your sentiment about just leading a good life, in fact I would argue that the dogma and constraints of religious belief are actually a huge handicap to living a good life!

But you do seem confused about some things - I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and they do not specifically exclude women for heaven - they claim only an elite group of 144000 individuals get to heaven, and everyone else, men and women, will 'inherit the earth' as a consolation prize!

In the beginning God created everything and it was GOOD. Man took what God had made by his freewill and turned many things bad...man became a sinner by nature. God punished man in the Old Testament for sins....but...in the New Testament we find that Jesus came to show people the way forward..(I am the way, the truth and the light).....and when He died...he took on his shoulders...to his death...all mans sin. That is why when on the cross He said "Father why have you forsaken me"?..at that moment..the sin that blocked our path to God was taken by him...to his death...thus leaving a path for us to come to God...... Jesus rose again on the third day.....he is alive today!. Jesus said that the only way to the Father was through him.....which since he is God himself as part of the trinity.(Father, son, Holy Spirit)...is the way we go! He set us a path whilst on Earth to follow but we all choose whether we follow it or not. I choose to because I truly believe the promise God makes of Eternal Life to all those who believe........ I get answers to prayer on a regular basis...I have a great family in Gods Church to fellowship with and being a Christian has changed me into a much better person than I was before I became one.
We all have choices....all I would say is study and think carefully before committing to any so called 'religion'...and choose wisely.
Best wishes, Mike.
PS if you want to know more about Christianity then please enrol on an Alpha Course at a Church near you...it's a fun course and very educational..even for people who are already Christian.

Firstly the devil also beleaves in God, but he doesn't worship him anymore (he use to be worship leader when he was in heaven).

Secondly, Jesus said in John 14:6 'I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me'.

And lastly, yeah Jesus was human and did die a Jew, and when He died all our sins died with Him so that we could have eternal life in heaven if we chose to accept Him as our saviour and when He rose again He was joined back to the trinity. Also, He is the only living God, all the others are dead and there can be only one truth.

If we didn't believe that we have to accept Jesus as God and Saviour, we wouldn't be Christians. It is one of the central beliefs of the the Christian faith, that belief in Jesus is the only way into Heaven for anyone, male or female.

From a Christian perspective, "leading a good life", doesn't qualify you to enter heaven, none of us is pure or perfect and that is the entry requirement. Truly accepting Jesus, cancels our sin and makes us perfect in God's sight and thus we may enter Heaven.

Christianity is a belief based on grace, that means what Jesus has done for you (ie dying to take your punishment for sins onto himself) not about what you can do for God. Jesus Himself made the astonishing claim that he is the only way to the father, and like you I didn't believe any of it - until I met Jesus one bizzare, life changing day, and then it didn't matter what I personally believed, I was hit with the existence of Jesus and had to decide whether or not to accept this gift of grace or to walk away. I accepted it. Now should I be punished or persecuted for telling others what I discovered? Face it, if it turns out to be true, won't you despise anyone who knew it but kept it to themselves? Most Christians don't preach out of hate or judgment (at least not the ones I know) but out of love.

Hi,Mikelmook,
Since Adams' sin separated us from God,the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross mended the bridge between this broken world, corrupted by sin, and the promise of eternal life.
Not acknowledging Jesus as the everlasting bridge that gives us passage to God is like saying I want to cross the English channel underground, but I don't believe in the Channel tunnels' existence. How therefore do I cross?
God bless,
Misterviv

If u deny the father u cant get in.I`m not sure but i dont tink Judaism refers to 2"aheaven" but i could be wrong on that.Kristians belive u must accept Jesus into yr life as they belive him to be god not the son, they all want to go to heaven but none of them want to die.Rasta belive that u dont waste yr time wishin on pie in the sky and instead create it here on this earth, and i think Islam is more or less the same as kristianity

It is not enough by just doing good? Good according to who?
Only Jesus can provide the way!

Beside, I found out that only Jesus said trust Him as savior and you can be saved.

Others... always try to tip the scale to the good part if you want to make it to heaven. This is frustrating for me. How do you know you have done enough good?

You believe in Heaven but not in God? I'm very puzzled by this one. You have the freewill to believe what you want. If you don't believe in my God, then why worry about it? Personally, it appears to me that you want to be reassured. I can't do that for you as I DO believe. I'm sure there will be some atheists willing to tell you what you want to hear, however. Best wishes to you.
