My friend is in the army in Iraq and I need to talk/tell him something. I have an address he left me before he departed but that was almost a year ago. Should I use that address and hope for the best? Or is there anyway to find out what the current address I can send to is? (And yes I have tried contacting his family and friends. Neither have an address-odd yes).

APO is for IRAQ.. my husband is there right now and their address is an APO AE address. And we were told by our unit before they deployed that if we a send a letter and they are no longer at that post (if they have moved to another post) that it will be burned. Why doesnt his family have his address? Maybe they arent comfortable giving his address out

If you're a civilian and have a USO around your area, just give them a call and ask. They will get the letter to a service member. Or if you don't have any local USO's, you can go to the USO website at:

http://www.uso.org

I'm sure they'll have some information that's will be useful for you. If you can't find anything useful, they have a section on there for donation to the troops for special occasions (like flying over entertainers for morale and such). I'm sure that would be nice just like a letter would be too.

To Note: APO/FPO addresses are not for Iraq stations. Those are for countries like England, Germany, Spain, Italy.....

If you don't have the service member's current or even prior unit address, then odds are that your letter won't be received. It's just like sending it anywhere else.

It's not gonna magically get there.

Hello,

Write to the current address and hope for the best, I am sure you could contact the Military and state his name, they will then give you his squadron address.

Thanks,

Brayden.
