You should have weaned a baby off the bottle as it turned one year old. Do this NOW! You are risking your baby's health with rotting teeth and poor nutrition!

From now on, only give plain water in the bottle, and only if s/he asks for it. Give other liquids in a cup, and only eight ounces at a time. Don't fill the baby's belly with liquids. Give the baby the regular meals the rest of the family eats. S/he will protest, but will eat it when they're hungry enough, and won't starve, I promise.

Get your baby checked by a pediatrician. It's possible this little nutrition for this long may require supplements.

Start restricting the "bottle" to mealtimes only. And at two and a half, baby really should be drinking from a cup. If your culture doesn't approve of depriving babies like that, don't worry. (-: Very few school children need to bring the bottle to school!

Offer yummy finger foods such as wholewheat crackers, juice gelatin (gelatin made with 100 percent real fruit juice and cut into small cubes), small cubes of cheese, cucumbers, carrots, etc. Eat with the baby, and make it look like fun. Give the baby a small dish of food that the family eats, and let baby feed himself/herself. (-: And yes, be prepared to take a shower after every meal for the first month or so. It's OK!!!

Give the baby water in the bottle if you don't want to stop the bottle right now. (For snacks and at bedtime.) The bottle may look less attractive with plain water in it.

Check with your doctor for more hints, and to see if something is actually wrong. If the baby is physically healthy, you may be in for a power struggle for a few days (or weeks), but as long as you make food fun, and end the meal when food is no longer fun, and don't feed outside scheduled times, baby will be eating like a grown-up soon!

Throw her bottles away. yes it will be very upsetting for you both for a few days but at her age she cannot be getting all the nutrition she needs from milk. Offer her sippy cups instead and plates of different foods she likes or may like. She will not starve...I promise you this. She will become hungry and after she accepts the bottle is not coming back she will begin to eat and use her cup. If you start this and back down and give her her bottle back she will ALWAYS know that all its takes is time and you will give her bottle back to her and her fits will be stronger and last longer. This is what is best for her. Sometimes we as parents have to do what is best for our children even if they don't like it. It is a lesson that you have to learn in order to be a good parent. Just because she is happy right then does not mean you are doing what is best for her. Example....she will hate homework but as her mother you must force her to do it and do it well. Be stong and know this too shall pass. You are doing what is right for her.

replace the bottle with a sippy cup, at this age , she should of been weened from the bottle a long time ago. Its not going to be easy to ween her, she will throw fits ad cry but it will only last a couple of day until she gets used to the cup. I kept telling my son that a big boy drinks from a cup, only babies drinks from a bottle, after a while he gave it up. U just have to stay with it and not give in. Have her be the "big" girl and have her toss her bottles in the trash, and when she does take the trash right out so she will know that its no more bottle time. Also have her help you prepare supper, washing veggies with you, or, help bring the food over to the stove, making sure she stand far enough back and have her hand you the veggies to put in. I kept my 2 kids involved, and wit them knowing they helped with the food, they at least tried it, and most of the time they loved it.........Good Luck and remember, be patient with her during her weening time, it will work out sooner than U think!!!!!

At 2.5 years old, it's going to be difficult. The baby must drink a lot of milk to keep the tummy full. Try foods such as puddings, cream of wheat, flavored oatmeals, whipped potatoes, noodles. Start of making them more bland than you would for yourself but with enough flavor to stimulate interest. It's time to wean from the bottle, too. 2.5 is kind of old to still be using one, switch to a sippy cup and maybe once a day at least, pour in a nutritional drink to supply vitamins and minerals.

You need to try to slowly get your baby off the bottle. If he/she doesn't like to eat something one way, try to prepare it and feed it in a different way. Maybe, you could try to train him or her by feed him/her food first before being allowed to drink milk. After a while, they'll learn that in order to have milk, they need to eat first. Have you tried incorporating the milk into the food, such as oatmeal? Maybe if the food tastes like milk, they'll eat it. To get a child to do something, it often helps if you give them an incentive for it. Give them a small treat for eating more food.

okay first of all the bottle should have been taken away at one year old because now you are going to have a hell of a time weaning her off of it.. point blank your baby girl is not going to starve herself try a soft tip sippie and only offer her that.. get rid of the bottle as soon as possibe.. next she might refuse it at first but she will get used to it, then try to introduce her to simple foods such as crackers, bananas, cookies.. and go from there.. but for real toss the bottle or you will be toting a kindergadener around with a bottle in her book bag..

You can't change baby's habit overnight. Try making a sched of her eating habits. Introduce food after half an hour when she has taken milk. Keep your options ready....kids at this age also have preferences. I give my baby idli/dosa with chutney, aloo/mooli parantha with pickle, rice, noodles, Sunfeast pastas, Lays chips, pineapple pastry, french fries, sandwich bread, real active apple juice, frooti, Amul masti buttermilk, peas/potato curry .
Kids love peas a lot so you can try cooking peas curry for her. Try putting little red chilli powder or black pepper to enhance the taste.
You can also try making her sit with you when you are having your meals, this helps.

Its high time your baby started on solids and relied on milk only as supplements. But all is not lost yet. Exclusively bottle fed babies quite often have this habit as they have not tasted anyhting but sprayed milk early inlife.

Please have her started on milk based semi-solids like, porride, suji-halwa, curd-rice. Also try our rice based cereals.

Dont despair and introduce one food at a time. continue to give your baby 18-20 oz. of milk daily, plus 10 oz of juice.

All the best, and happy parenting
