With all this talk about letting go of things let us talk of what we will not give to become more earth friendly. Maybe some light will come from this.

I would NOT give up my beliefs and my friends lives. I would NOT give up my trust in others. I would NOT give up hope for a better tomorrow. I would NOT give up progress even in the face of giving up all technology if needed. I would NOT give up alot but what will you NOT give up?

I'm more worried about education and inspiration right now. But that doesnt mean I dont do my part to be Green. I dont use AC and very lil heat in the winter. I dont cook foods instead i buy foods that can be eaten without need to cook. I dont use much light I have my music on tho. I am a veggie eater and If I could I would eat stones for energy. I try not to use very much water when showering and dont shower more then once a day if that. I walk alot and car pool mostly because I dont own a car. I am doing things to be green and helping to educate people in the hopes that they choice to be green. I have not joined any green orgs tho because I honestly dont have much to offer them in the form of money and transit is a major problem for me so giving my time would be hard. Plus I have other areas besides being green that I devote myself to. I put spirituality and teaching it to others above being green in hopes that itll lead to more people becoming green.

I use solar powered battery rechargers for all of my electronics, cell phones, pdas, flashlights. I dont buy batteries any more, from the stores. So, i see no reason to give up my gadgets to go totally green.

Given enough room in your house, One could place solar panels on the roof or wherever there is sunlight, to charge or cut down on the amount of electricity that you use.

Using Less electricity means less energy is consumed in the process of living, I dont reccomend stopping the usage of electricity entirely, though. It is too practical a thing not to use.

For using fans to cool your house, use them on the gournd floor windows as an intake. That is reverse the fan to draw cooler air in the house, Use one fan pointed up on top of the stairwell to draw the cooler air upstairs. Leave the upper windows open to allow some of the hot air out.

That way, given your situation, you might be able to use a lower setting on your air conditioner, and save $$$. I use it at my house, and i just have the air on from 1 to 6pm during the hottest time of the day. [THIS IS ACTUALLY MY WIFES IDEA, TRUST ME IT WORKS.] (And, even i still use air conditioners, and wont give it up entirely).

I'm not a "tree hugger lib", or "a use it all con". I'm just politically moderate, and I like saving money.

First give up the talking part and do something practical for the world to be green.
Boycott all kinds products made up from forests and from all kinds of birds and animals.Turn to be pure vegetarian.Use green manure.Fight for waste treatment plants at all industries.Strictly enforce environment laws and make them more stringent.Protect water bodies.
Be a watchdog to make the world green. So give up pep talks and form NGO's which should work in close coordination with each other and the government.
