Johnnie Walker labels from harshest to smoothest:
Red
Black
Gold
Blue
Ive never tried Gold. I'm not a big whisky drinker at all, and I really enjoy the Blue. It is not, however, cheap.

Johnny Walker black label Scotch, aged 12 years. I only drink good Scotch and Drambuie. Cheap rye is fine in highballs with Sprite or gingerale and lime.

Neither, try Pinch, Royal Salute, Glenfiddich. If you really want the best flavor of a great whiskey try Old Bushmills.
I agree the best is Pinch and Drambuie, it's called a Rusty Nail. You'll have to name your whiskey otherwise they will pour well scotch and it's not as good

I assume you are referring to Johnnie Walker, in which case, black label is def. smoother.
However, if you are mixing it, rather than drinking neat, you prob. wouldn't know the difference.

For Johnny Walker it is the black. The difference is the amount of time it is 'smoked' for. The smoking is actually, how many years (25,30,50,60) it spend in a smoked oak barrel.

DEFINITELY Black Label, but if you're looking for a really good scotch try "Glenfiddich" (pronounced "glenfiddick") - you won't go past it! Expensive but good.
