Lets say you do chose that road. After loosing the weight that you want , are you going to stop? If you do stop doing that you will only gain the weight back plus some and have an even slower metabolism. But if you continue you will surely die young do to the side effects.
The only way to loose weight is through exercise and diet. Many people quit bc they think its hard. You have to make it a lifestyle change not just a way to loose a few pounds for now. To start off try to do some cardio such a walking. Go from walking 10 minutes to 20 to 30 and so on.Then go from walking to running . Once you have achieved that try to go from working out a few times a week to as often as you can. Also while doing this slowly try to watch what your eating . You know whats bad for you . Your not an idiot. Eat 3 small meals a day a well as 2 snack in between . Always have breakfast . Skipping meals will only make things worst when you do eat. Being healthy is not hard . Your negative attitude and laziness makes it hard. You can do it. That's no bs.

First of all, this is a seriously tough situation and I say that because I've been there. My advice, it's a very dangerous road that's almost impossible to turn back on, and I don't recommend it. At the same time, it's important that you like your appearance. This is impossible for young women in the US today because of the media images we're constantly bombarded with. Does it help to know that nearly every image you see is enhanced in some way? These people don't really look that good in real life! They're beautiful sure, but not perfect. So...with that, definitely try to keep your mind in a healthy place. Nicole Richie does not look fabulous...she looks ill. The biggest problem with anorexia, besides the mental issue, is that you are damaging your body. Your body will lose valuable minerals and nutrients and become very unhealthy. You mentioned you know some of the dangers...but let me ask you, do you want to be a mother one day? If you do, don't become anorexic. The disease robs you of vital nutrients and minerals and will make it more difficult for you to conceive later in life. SO, what to do...make a lifestyle plan that's healthy, and will allow you to lose weight and sculpt your body to something you can be proud of. Start exercising regularly...choose activities that you find fun because that means you'll do them regularly. Mixing cardio activities with weight training is the ideal plan. In addition to that, make sure you eat a balanced diet! Get all the food groups, carbs too! Just don't overdo any group. Eat when you're hungry, and abstain when you're not. But if you ARE hungry, EAT! Don't deny yourself...that's destructive behavior. Also, I've been told it helps to look in the mirror each day and tell yourself you are beautiful. I've tried that one...and I still feel too silly. Hopefully one day I'll be able to. Good luck and PLEASE don't become anorexic!

DO NOT BECOME ANAREXIC!!!! You may not be happy fat in other people's eyes, but everyone is their own worst critic, It seems like no matter how skinny you are, or how much weight you lose, there's always a few more pounds that could come off somewhere else on your body. I saw a talkshow with this lady who was anorexic. She was 83 pounds and she was like 38 years old. She was totally miserable, everyday she woke up, she saw a new part on her body that looked "fat." She was killing herself. Plus, the risks are way too high when you do sh!t like that to yourself. Once you het "addicted" it is almost impossible to stop without profesional help, which can be very costly and embarrasing. Also, if you starve your body long enough, I have heard that it will reject the food you try to eat, if you decide you don't want to starve yourself anymore. There are other ways to lose twenty pounds. Maybe not as "fast" as starving yourself, but ALOT healthier and ALOT safer. Take down your portion sizes when you eat, and only eat when you actually hungry, not just bored or because you are craving a "snack." Trust me on this....You will be so much more satisfied with yourself, if you do it the right way instead of just giving in to starvation.
Good luck hun!!

Oh my God honey, please don't! Try a regular healthy diet(and I don't mean the strict kind where you just delete almost everything you like from the menu) and plenty of exercise! Trust me my friend did this for two months and she lost 35lbs. She looks wonderful. The starving, the stress, the pain, the constant hunger, the obsession, it really is not worth it! Tell you what eat a nice healthy breakfast in the morning, like have some cereal w/skim milk and some fruit. Then making your own salads for lunch, or a tuna sandwhich or something with some wheat bread. Then for dinner try fish, or chicken, or turkey and veggies with rice or something like that. Helpful tip: DRINK LOTS OF WATER. It makes you feel fuller, so you won't be hungry or thinking of food all the time. For snacks try fruit, pretzels, low fat yogurt, granola bars, peanut butter on wheat crackers....it's all really good once you get the hang on it! Of course though don't forget the exercise! Try to balance it out through the week, like areobics on one day, areobics/strenghth training on the next, and ect,. Do at least a 30 to 60 minute workout about three to five times a week. There are so many fun ways, you can try jogging, swimming, dancing, jump roping, walking, bicycling, pilates, basketball, soccer, volleyball, boxing, karate., just find something that you will enjoy and stick with! Also cut out the sugar, salt, and oily foods!!! Don't eat a lot of junk food(pop, candy, chips, fries, burgers, ect.,) Lots of fruits and veggies and alot of water helps! At first it always seems so tough and difficult of course, but everything new takes time! And like anything you will get used to it, but it is all up to you! Keep your chin up, have a positive attitude, and don't give up and it all should work out in the long run!

As someone who has battled anorexia and bulimia for over 11 years, you can trust me when I say....IT WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE. Despite what you might think....you will NOT suddenly become happier when you reach your goal weight. First of all, you will never reach your goal weight because that goal weight number will decrease and decrease as teh disease progresses. My lowest weight was 74 and I could not walk across the room without getting dizzy and fainting. I ended up in the hospital twice in a month having to get potassium pumped back into me and let me tell you....that HURTS!!! Also, as the disease progresses, you lose ALL interest in anything else...friends, going out, having fun, etc. Your whole entire life becomes this disorder. Your mind will only concentrate on calories, fat grams, your weight, etc...all day long, every day. And course, you know that you can die from it. Bulimia is even worse....your teeth will rot out from the stomach acid and everytime you eat anything, your mind will not rest until you can find a bathroom and privacy to purge. Please believe me....you don't want to trade places where I've been. If you do, in fact, need to lose weight, you can do it healthfully. Eat healthy and exercise. You may need to consult your physician if you need to lose weight and can't.

DON'T DO IT!!!
The negatives are far worse...
IF you want to lose weight, try going to a sauna and sweating out some water weight. drink water before and after to keep hydrated as that could be potentially dangerous as well.
WALKING is great..
A friend of mine walked for an hour every night then after a few weeks made it two hours.. she ended up going from 170 to 120 in about 6 weeks!
Stay safe!!!!

A 24.2 BMI is really not that bad. I'm not sure, but I think "overweight" is around 30. Anorexia and bulimia are eating disorders. I honestly don't know why anyone would "consider" becoming anorexic/bulimic. If you really want to lose weight, do it healthily.

The fact that you're thinking about becoming anorexic tells me that you aren't actually anorexic. You don't think about that and then become it.
It's a mental disorder, not a diet. People that are actually afflicted with this mental illness didn't decide that they were going to be mentally ill.
If you are truly unhappy with your physical appearance, start working out. Eat healthy foods, drink lots of water and exercise.
You'll get better, quicker results doing that then trying to 'become' ill. If you're still not convinced, check out some real stories about real people that are dying from these illnesses.
Take care of yourself.

Take a look around at couples with successful marriages. I'm positive you'll have a hard time finding an anorexic wife of 15 years. A happy life won't come from being super skinny.

Take it from someone who took years to bounce back from anorexia-it is not worth it. You will ruin your metabolism and what you do eat will turn into fat and will be stored by your body. Nicole Richie does not look fabulous, she looks sick. If you want to maintain a healthy weight and still BE healthy, stick to veggies, fruits, lean meats, and lots of water. Trust me, it is better to be a little fat and happy than always feeling sick and weak.
