Some people argue this question is inherently meaningless because "God" has not been properly defined philosophically.

It could be either, it depends on the argument that you choose to carry to answer the question " does God exist?" The methaphysical argument would focus on the nature of being of God; the ethical argument woudkl try to prove that God exists through examining human morality and its foundations in our notion that there's a God; an epistemological argument would argue that because we have a notion of God, then God must exist and how this knowledge came to us and it's nature.

The Christian God? Any God in general exists, but only in your head.

If you believe God exists, and it gives you a sense of
inner strength--thus making you a "morally-correct"
person--then the answer is: "Yes. For YOU he does."

If, on the other hand, your question is whether it would
be right to deny someone that belief just because you
don't have sufficient evidence of God's existence....
then the answer is plain and simply: "No!"

It's all 3... but to answer your main question.. I would say maybe.

Maybe because there is no proof that god exists or not. So believing or not is a personal choice.

Use the logic your brain has;
Is there a invisible man floating around in the sky who snaped his fingers and made everything appear?
It's just plain stupid to believe in God...

I'd suggest reading "The God Delusion" by Dawkins

Of course God exists. How could all of this NOT be created by a ultimate creator. Hun, go pick up a Bible, and you will have definite proof God exists.

If someone claimed that Santa Claus exists, what would your response be?

I think you can have a similar response if some claims God exists.

As long as you and I exist God will. I'm pretty sure about me and God but we might be able to carry on without you.
